hmmmmm when i click on your name then view your profile i get the name of pat63409 last activity on
Last Activity: December 31st, 1969 07:00 PM
which is impossible since the board is only 5 years old. LOL

there is definetly something wrong and way beyond my capabilities. i will make sure tom sees this post and then you can converse with him.

It is a bug with the software. I am looking into a fix ... but the easy way around this is for us to change your name. Can we change it from Pat. to something else? How about if I delete the old user Pat and you can use that one. I dont think that person has logged in for a while and has never posted.

Please PM me the name you would like Pat. changed to. We can discuss changing it back once the bug is fixed.

Wonder if you can help me out. I'm trying to add a signature. when I go into CP it takes the info OK, but if you click on my name at the top left of my posts, to look at the profile, it brings up profile info for another 'Pat,' who joined the board in 2004, but whose last activity was Jan 1st 1970??? The same thing happens if you click on my name in the list of threads in the forum. If, however, you click on 'find all posts by Pat' from the name at the top of my posts, then it does show my posts, and not my apparent alter-ego!

I hope I've explained this OK. If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it. I don't want to post anything else that will go on someone elses's name/profile, so I'll wait until I hear something.

Editing as I've just had a thought - when I joined up I managed to put a '.' ('full-stop' in the UK, do you call it a 'period' in the USA, or did I dream that?) at the end of my name, so my user name to log in is actually 'Pat.' I'm just wondering if that may be the cause of the problem?

Hi Tom,

Yes thanks - changing the user name to just 'Pat' without the 'dot' will be fine for me and I'm happy for it to stay as that if that is OK with you. Will it change retrospectively on the few posts I have already posted, or only on my new posts? Or, thinking about it, will I need to 're-register' as Pat, once you have deleted the previous 'Pat?'

What's up with the "Smilies"? What I/you(?) click ISN'T always what appears in the post. To illustrate, in the primary Smilies array, you see (click to view)[img]http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif[/img] When array (or icon in smilie page) clicked (am doing for next image) appears. Looks normal in edit window, but not the same after posted. (That one is awful, too)

i tried to update my siggy today, and i ended up having to delete all of my challenge awards before it would let me save my siggy. the only thing i was trying to update was my numbers toward my exercise challenges.
i wasn't adding anything, but kept getting the message that i wasn't allow more than 2 images in my signature. however i've had these challenge awards in my siggy for atleast a month, some of them longer. i just went ahead and deleted them, but i don't understand why after all this time i'm not allowed them in my siggy.

susan, the smilies have been problematic since the upgrade and even before that. a member was working on them, deleting some and organizing others. it's a work in progress.

thanks jimmy for the link, guess i'm gonna have to open up my pocket book in order to get all those virtual awards back on my siggy. not that i mind, but just very leary still about donating online or buying anything with a credit card online. DH does it all the time, plus has Paypal for ebay and things like that, but i'm still stuck in the dark ages i guess. will have the time to take a look at the supporting member pages this weekend.

i would be most apprecative if you would let tom know that you will work on the smiles. a pm works best with him on specific matters.

i would have already done something about it if i knew what the heck to do. i just don't have a clue.

The smiles need lots of work and the old version of the board didnt let you do much.
This new board has a great interface for smiles.

I would love to redo them.

If you're ever interested, I have a folder with about 100 smilies, many that aren't listed on this board that I've collected from all corners of the interwebs.

I use dial-up at my house and it takes a long time to find the one smiley I'm after if it is buried on the "more" page. I liked the old version...maybe if all the old smileys were at the top of the more page I'd find'em faster.
