Updating ticker w/o creating a new one every time

Ok, I've been through the posts with ticker questions, but they were all about creating and posting one. How do update a ticker without going through the whole process of creating a new one? On the ticker page is says that as long as you have your password you should not have to create a new one every time, but there is no "update" button or anything and every time I tried to change the weight it started a new one. Help! Thanks!

I had problems with that too. I use a different ticker than you but somehow I figured out all I had to do was click on the ticker in my signature. Then I just enter my password and I am good to go. It automatically update in my signature.

I do the same thing...I go to UserCP, Edit Signature...double-click on my ticker, enter my username/password - this opens the 3rd page of ticker creation...I update/enter my info & save.

It took me to the same page where I still had to create a new ticker. It seemed like I could just change the info and be done with it, but it wouldn't update the code without me clicking on the "create ticker" button and it created a new one. Sigh... I may just give up on the whole ticker thing!!

How do I create a ticker?

1. Choose your Ticker and Background.

2. Enter in your weight information.

3. Create Login Information to Update your Weight.


are you creating the login information for your updates?

i'll have to tinker around with the site/tickers. i haven't used one in a very long time and really don't remember the process of updating it.

You will have to go through all steps Jimmie listed. The only thing you won't need to do after making the new ticker is re-paste the BB code in your signature.

after you created your ticker, you were given a USERNAME and a PASSWORD. if you use those two items to log back into adbbticker.com, you can modify the numbers as needed. your ticker, the one showing in your signature, will automatically be changed.

i've tested this in my own ticker test thread and it worked.

Yep, I have the log in and password. So it sounds like you're saying all I have to do is update the info and that's it? Just update the info and then log out without cutting and pasting the new code, or "creating ticker," just update and close it out and it will automatically update in my sig?

yep.
and from what i tested, you don't even have to log out. when i pasted my code, i went back and changed the numbers, came back to the page where my ticker was and refreshed the page. it changed the numbers without me logging out of the ticker site. no cutting, no pasting
