10 LAPS WITH JIMMIE
Featuring Jace, member since June 15, 2006, Goalie
pace lap What are your hobbies and/or passions in life?
I love to write, I love school, and I love history. Especially when I can mix all three as a Masters History student who plans on getting a PhD and teaching at the University level.
I'm also passionate about baking. I once considered a career as a master le cordon bleu patisserie. But I prefer to leave it as a hobby. As it stands, people pay me to make them cakes, pies and pastries, all of which are my own unique creations for special occasions.
lap 2 Which describes you best: I don't weigh, ever! ~ I weigh between 2 or 3 times a week ~ I am a full blown scaleaholic.
None of these really describe me. I weigh once a week on Sunday mornings like clockwork. No more no less.
lap 3 What is your favorite legal food?
Cream Cheese! I add it to as many recipes as possible. One of the best inventions since the printing press.
lap 4 What is your favorite ADBB forum?
The Main forum! Love getting a chance to impart what little wisdom I can from my own experiences with Atkins as a way of life.
lap 5 Have you met any of your ADBB buddies in person?
No, not as such....it's so lonely here in Windsor, Ontario!
lap 6 Looking back at the beginning of your journey, did you set reasonable goals when you started your weight loss journey?
I did because I consulted my doctor first. We talked about what would be reasonable goals and we set my goal weight together to ensure I would end up in the healhy range rather than taking the chance of getting too far below it.
lap 7 What does 'paying it forward' mean to you?
Helping others as I myself have been helped. As it pertains to this board, I try to give as much help and support that I myself have received from all the wonderful members. However, it also means giving a good reality check when it's required as well. Sometimes it's really what people need to get them on track.
lap 8 Where do you see yourself in 1 year, as it concerns your woe, exercise and health?
I see myself staying the course with my Atkins way of life. As far as exercise, I'm hoping to find the time to join a gym and create some more toned muscles. I walked my way to goal and continue walking at least 4 miles a day, 6 days a week...I love it, but it doesn't do much for the muscle definition!
lap 9 How do you challenge yourself when it comes to exercise?
Seeing as how I'm only walking at the moment the challenge lies in timing myself on my walks. The next day I attempt to beat that time. It's not much, but it has worked for me so far.
final lap If you could give somebody one piece of advice about this woe/wol,
what would you say?
This one took a long time to answer. I couldn't come up with just ONE piece of advice because there are so many important ones....I have to say:
1) Follow the plan the way the good doctor intended.
2) Never cheat! EVER!
3) Eat your veggies and drink your water religiously!
4)Stick to it!
Best of luck to all!
