Featuring Baarb, member since November 5, 2006, Supporting Member

pace lap What are your hobbies and/or passions in life? My hobbies include reading (often, but not only fiction), cinema going and exercise. I am passionate about politics and get involved in campaigning, particularly around human rights.

lap 2 Which describes you best: I don't weigh, ever! ~ I weigh between 2 or 3 times a week ~ I am a full blown scaleaholic. I am (regrettably) a full blown scaleaholic!

lap 3 What is your favorite legal food? Definately cream mixed with plain cocoa powder and a tiny bit of splenda - I have got used to it very bitter, so much so, water taste sweet afterwards

lap 4 What is your favorite ADBB forum? Can I have two? Journal chats is great to get to know people and share in their successes, but the exercise forums motivate me like nothing else.

lap 5 Have you met any of your ADBB buddies in person? No - but it would be great to.

lap 6 Looking back at the beginning of your journey, did you set reasonable goals when you started your weight loss journey? I didn't set any goals at first. I think if I had I may have been discouraged.

lap 7 What does 'paying if forward' mean to you? I think it means helping people who are new to this WOL to find their feet, especially when they are upset or confused by something you can empathise with. Things like welcoming new members, looking at menus, etc.

lap 8 Where do you see yourself in 1 year, as it concerns your woe, exercise and health? I certainly see myself as at goal and having been maintaining for a few months. Exercise wise hopefully I'll be able to run a 10k and feel stronger. I'd love it if my thyroid medication was reduced too, but we'll see.

lap 9 How do you challenge yourself when it comes to exercise? I do anything Lyssie suggests! Such as the triathlon and weight lifting challenges. Also I sign up to 6WEC to keep me at least maintaining a certain level of fitness. I sign up to races in order to give me something to aim for, such as a 5k in May. Trying new classes, like bodypump, is also good to keep it new and interesting.

final lap If you could give somebody one piece of advise about this woe/wol,
what would you say? I would say cheating is more problematic on this programme than on others as it throws your system out for three days or so - so try your best not to cheat. If you do though, don't give up, just get right back in the saddle. You'll probably regret cheating, but you'll regret allowing that cheat to be a reason to give up completely even more

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!
