pace lap What are your hobbies and/or passions in life? I'm passionate about my husband. We have been together for 10yrs & married for 8 of those yrs. He is my 2nd husband & is truly a gift from God. He has been a shining example of what a real man & real father is suppose to be. 1st husband abusive alcholic. I'm passsionate about my 2 children Kaitlin is 23 & Jimmy is 28. I'm passionate about my grandchildren, Jim's children. Elijah is 9, Osiris is 3, Franky is a 2 yr old girl & baby Stella is 5 months. My stepdaughters. Erin is 20 & Taylor is 12.
I am passionate about quilting!! The whole process is theraputic for me. I love all things about quilting from the fabric to my sewing machine to all the cool gadgets. Sometimes if I'm having a bad day I just go in my sewing room & feel better.
My other big passion is books. I love to read & do so everyday. Actually I can't fall asleep until I've read.
I hope to someday be passionate about exercise.
lap 2 Which describes you best: I don't weigh, ever! ~ I weigh between 2 or 3 times a week ~ I am a full blown scaleaholic. I am non of the above...I'm a scale hater. I don't/won't own one. I weigh myself every 2 weeks at my doctors office. I work in a hospital & I'm surrounded by the
things.
lap 3 What is your favorite legal food? Right now it is green beans. Have been getting lots of fresh ones from friends gardens. I also love steak!!
lap 4 What is your favorite ADBB forum? Second Time Around Club rocks!!
lap 5 Have you met any of your ADBB buddies in person? NO but hope to in the future.
lap 6 Looking back at the beginning of your journey, did you set reasonable goals when you started your weight loss journey? The only goal I really set was to have a clean Induction which I did. I set a goal not to obsess about the numbers as this journey is about physical & mental health. I will weigh myself every two weeks. I take my measurments every 2 weeks. I haven't set any mini goals as far as weight loss as I believe I'm going to be a slow loser based on the small weight loss during Induction. I'm okay with that as the inches are falling off!!
lap 7 What does 'paying if forward' mean to you? I believe in being kind to one another & helping one another. Paying it forward is a part of that. I'm not sure which is better...being on the giving or recieving end of an act of kindness.
lap 8 Where do you see yourself in 1 year, as it concerns your woe, exercise and health? I see myself definately following this WOE as I know it is the right thing for me. I feel so much better physically & mentally. I see myself going through OWL one rung at a time. Mostly I look forward to the process of learning that food is to nourish my body not to be used to abuse my body/mind. I envision my cholesterol back within normal range. I am looking forward to my joints not hurting like they do now. As far as exercise I hope that as my journey continues I will learn to embrace exercise & be willing to try new things.
lap 9 How do you challenge yourself when it comes to exercise? Right now this is my biggest hurdle.
I just need to suck it up & do it. I know exercise will speed up the weight loss. I have joined the stability ball challenge for September. The college next door finally has regular hours for the swimming pool so I'll utiltize that. The gym is still under construction & I look forward to that opening. My intentions are good but my follow through isn't. When I get home from work I'm so physically wiped out that I have a hard time doing anything. I wake up with alot of energy but my job just takes all I've got. I know it is a viscous cycle & I need to just do it. I think the challenge is to get up early & exercise before going to work. I'm so full of excuses...I need help in this area of my new WOL.
final lap If you could give somebody one piece of advise about this woe/wol, what would you say?READ THE BOOK!!! Follow the program per Dr. Atkins instructions. Then I would highly recommend joining ADBB for the support, information & the wealth of knowledge of the members. Plus some of you are extremely funny
& laughter is so important!!
