A New Year’s Invitation
You are cordially invited to become an Atkins Success Story.
You will need to bring the following: You are cordially invited to become an Atkins Success Story.
Positive Attitude- if the idea of changing how you think is a bit overwhelming, believe this, all the thoughts, ideas, beliefs that you have in your mind were put there and allowed to stay there with your cooperation. You are already a professional at creating your beliefs. You have control over them, molding them etc. It can not be done without your cooperation. The core of any human creativity project is once we focus on what we want, and believe we can achieve it, our results are assured. You can become a magnet for your goals. Take a test, become an optimist, for the next 30 days. Do not cooperate with the pessimist in you. You will be amazed at the results of your actions. Become a totally positive person. Refuse to cooperate with negativity. Keep a positive attitude. Surround your self with Atkins knowledge and people who are trying to achieve the same goals as yourself. Read the success stories and look at the before and after pictures here... know that ANYONE can do this and thousands have. Do you think the people that were successful were any different then yourself? Ask them, I think not! Be your own best cheerleader! Keep yourself inspired. Inspire others on the board, cheer them on and it will rub off on you. When you find yourself in need on an “attitude adjustment” go to the board. Vent, scream or grumble. You will be amazed at the support you receive. Support is only going to increase your positive attitude.
Ability – This is the easy one! There are really very few reasons why someone cannot do Atkins and be successful at it. There is no need for diplomas, training or a great deal of skill. Read the Book, ask questions and follow the plan. That is it! That is all there is to it!
Motivation – This is the key. What is your reason to act? Everyone is unique as to what motivates him or her. You have to find your “motivators”. Start a list now! Ask yourself why. Find out every reason you want to do Atkins. Oh sure, we all want to be thin, but find out exactly and precisely why. If the list is too hard to start, write down every negative effect that being overweight has on your life.
BUT……do not write it down as a negative, write it down as a positive. Turn a negative into a positive. When I lose weight I will walk up the stairs two steps at a time. I will wear a size 8. I will no longer be ashamed of eating in public etc etc . Identify the reasons that you want to lose weight and write them down.Remember ..If your mind can conceive it you can achieve it.
MOTIVATION determines what you do.
ATTITUDE determines how well you do it.
ABILITY is what you can do.
GOALSATTITUDE determines how well you do it.
ABILITY is what you can do.
Harvard Business School researchers have taken a vital interest in what makes the difference in success or failure for people of similar backgrounds and educational standards. Their studies find that 3% of people are successful, 30% are moderately successful and 67% just exist. The significant difference for the 3% who are successful is that they have written down, specific goals. The 30% who are moderately successful have a general idea of where they are going but don't have any goals formalized. The rest are happy to watch the world go by.
A dream is a wish your heart makes;
a goal is a dream that has an author.
a goal is a dream that has an author.
Goals are the purpose, the objective, the dreams, the motivation without goals you are like a ship without a rudder or a car without gas. Your goals are your vehicle to get where you want to be.
Successful people do just not say, “I am going to lose 50 pounds”. Successful people break it down into achievable mini-goals. Yes, 50 pounds may be their ultimate goal, but they start with baby step, their first step is to lose 5 pounds. Anyone can lose 5 pounds! Once they have lost the initial 5 pounds they look towards the next mini goal of another 5 pounds. Baby Steps……The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Do not focus on the “thousand miles…….focus on the baby steps.
Now is the time to write down you’re goals. This is the start of a very long list you will develop as you go forward on this journey. Can’t do it? Sure you can, you have already written down you’re motivations. Those are you’re goals to start! Have two sets of goals. Large goals and mini goals for along the way.
Make you’re goals realistic and make them obtainable. Try to give each goal a realistic time frame. And most important be accountable to you’re goals. Read these goals on a daily basis. Celebrate each goal you have obtained and I mean CELEBRATE! People who fail to truly celebrate can become disillusioned with their goals. Make a reward for every single goal. Surprise and amaze yourself with your rewards. Make it a celebration of your accomplishment. But remain true to those rewards; do not allow your self to have them until you have reached the specific goal. So, now you see that your reward can also be apart of your motivation.
