10 LAPS WITH JIMMIE

pace lap What are your hobbies and/or passions in life?
Passions in life for me include all things diet/weight removal (I don't like calling it "lost" - because that implies I'd like to find it again and I don't need any help with that, thank you very much!)/and exercise. I have an exercise video collection that rivals most libraries! I'm also an avid (bordering on rabid!) makeup/perfume/bath & body product junkie
.
Hobbies include target shooting, archery, cross stitching, and I'm a web-rat at heart!
lap 2 Which describes you best: I don't weigh, ever! ~ I weigh between 2 or 3 times a week ~ I am a full blown scaleaholic.
I am someone that must weigh in daily. For me it's about accountability. The numbers don't rattle me - even if they're fluctuating upwards. It's when I avoid the scale like the plague I wind up packing on the pounds.
lap 3 What is your favorite legal food?
I make a chicken/bacon/shrimp mixture that is my favorite food hands down.
I fry 1lb of bacon with 2lbs of
breast and season it with Montreal Garlic & Onion seasoning. When it's done, I drain the fat and add a pound of shrimp and about 1/2 cup of parmesan. It's incredible on salads, and with ranch?
Mmmmm!!
lap 4 What is your favorite ADBB forum?
Journal Chats rivaled only by the Induction Forum. I don't post a lot in other people's journals, but I read them religiously!
lap 5 Have you met any of your ADBB buddies in person?
Several of them!!
lap 6 Looking back at the beginning of your journey, did you set reasonable goals when you started your weight loss journey?
I originally set a goal that was way too low and didn't figure it out until I was within 30lbs of it. My original goal was 135lbs, but for my body type and the amount of lean muscle mass I carry, I'd look ridiculous and be very unhealthy!
lap 7 What does 'paying if forward' mean to you?
To me 'paying it forward' means answering newbie questions whenever I can, sending a supportive PM to someone I see struggling, volunteering for the betterment of ADBB, and keeping my journal current and detailed with food choices and the honest struggles I have with food, family, and life. I really feel like the journals are a HUGE part of ADBB and it's success. We get to really feel like someone else out there understands what we're going through, has been where we are, and others come in and cheer us on. It's a win-win deal!
lap 8 Where do you see yourself in 1 year, as it concerns your woe, exercise and health?
A year from now I'm sure I'll be battling my typical 10lb fluctuation. I've been an Atkineer for 5 years now, having removed 82lbs in total, 68 inches, and went from a size 22 to a size 8. I bounce between a size 8 to a size 12 and then I reign it in again and bring it back to where it should be. The fluctuations are fewer and farther between now than they were at first, which means I'm getting better at this game!
I'll still be around
lap 9 How do you challenge yourself when it comes to exercise?
When I'm being a good girl, I give it all I've got in the exercise department. I continually add weight/reps to what I'm doing, switch up what I'm doing to throw a curve ball at my body and keep it guessing, and am forever on the look out for new and exciting things to do!
final lap If you could give somebody one piece of advise about this woe/wol, what would you say?
That's easy. It comes from one of my favorite quotes of all time:
Quote:
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "PRESS ON" has solved and will always solve the problems of the human race." - Israel Regardie
Persistance is what wins the race. Giving up is NOT an option. If you fall on your
, dust yourself off, eat crow if you need to, and keep on keepin' on.
That and ..well,
LOW CARB JUNK FOOD IS STILL JUNK FOOD!!
