Worse second time around definently. But couldn't call it really bad.

I was fortunate not to have suffered. I had heard all about it and braced myself for it, but it never happened.

My sympathy to all of you that have struggled with it.

          Re: induction flu?

I think I only got it mildly because I had been "de-toxing" my carbs slowly (read lowering my carb intake over a couple of weeks) KNOWing that I was going to do Atkins. I had tried it twice before without reading or doing any research and got the flu pretty bad. I hated that feeling and wanted to make sure I didn't have that 'withdrawal' yucky feeling again. I know that was the wimpy way to do it, not going cold turkey, but hey - it worked for me.

Was much worse the second time around. Been having a hard time getting on track to restart again. I felt so sick and it was my first week of college that I caved in. Trying to restart again this coming Monday.

                  Re: induction flu?

My Induction flu or funk lasted probably 4 weeks. I was irritable and not fun to be around as my body and mind adjusted to the new way of eating. Everything was so much work and tiresome -- all the old comfort foods and pop were offlimits. Luckily, it took a month and 35# down, and then suddenly everything clicked and seemed worth it. If you do suffer from it, it is temporary (no matter how long it takes), and you will be the better for it as you body is becoming a fat burning machine.
