  • Which animal do you prefer to gnaw on?

Seeing as how meat is arguably the main food group on this WOE, I've been wondering what others prefer as their meat of choice? I've broken it down by animal so bacon, spare ribs, tenderloin and pork barbeque can all track back to the PIG while ground beef, liver, and ribeye might stem from COW. I'll add an "other" category for all you who favor muskrat stew or frog legs (please clarify if you chose this option)!

My vote will start it off with COW. While I like all the choices, I think I could eat ground beef in a myriad of ways throughout an entire week and never grow bored!

Cluck, cluck. I get tired of it but there is always some BBQ chicken in the fridge and it seems to hit the spot when I need to gnaw. Plus I think the need to hold the bones and literally gnaw is part of the whole decadent snack process. LOL

I have to say that eating a lobster with butter and not feeling guilty about it is a blessing. I'll take that over any chicken!

That's a tough one. I love cow and chicken. I know more recipes for chicken so I tend to eat it more than cow.

Re: Which animal do you prefer to gnaw on?

I picked chicken because there are just sooooo many ways to cook it, I never get tired of it. I can't believe I can now say that. I didn't like meat much at all until I started Atkins and in a former life when I was married, we had to have fried chicken every Sunday (LOL I am a Baptist!) and several other days of the week if x-hubby had any say. One Sunday, I went to put a bite in my mouth and gagged. I didn't eat chicken for about two years after that. Now, I eat it nearly day, and never get tired of it.

We went out for a seafood buffet every Friday and sometimes on Saturday as well. Same thing happened--I didn't eat seafood for two years after we divorced. I still don't eat much seafood, except fish.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

I think I prefer cow, but we eat chicken nearly every day because it is cheaper and so easy to cook. I like corned beef, burgers but most of all I enjoy a really nice steak. I buy lamb chops, pork chops, but it has to be chicken our freezer is just chock full 'o' chicken.

I would also have to agree with you Sally, my parents are from Bari, Italy and the pork there is unlike anything you will get anywhere else in the world.
