We’re all unique. We have our own personalities, occupations, likes and dislikes. We live in different locations in the world , however, we all have one thing in common…THE ADBB brought us together.
Each one of us has made the commitment to make major changes in our lifestyles, live healthier and lose excess weight. We’re all thriving to deal with the frustration, doubts, and triumphs that we face from day to day . The ADBB provides us with encouragement, motivation, inspiration and support. No matter where we are in our journeys, we can find others in the ADBB who have been there and found ways to conquer the obstacles that we face.
Who made the ADBB possible for people like us who are struggling to transform our lives? Have you ever stopped to wonder where the site came from or who is responsible for the immeasurable knowledge and positive support that the ADBB members receive 24/7?
His name is Tom. He is a 37 year old native of New Jersey, married with a daughter and a son. He works for a Manhattan bank as a java programmer.
About ten years ago, Tom lost 100 pounds on Atkins. He didn’t have the support of the ADBB and it’s members to help him. He realized how difficult it is to keep yourself motivated and focused as you make the necessary changes to live a healthier lifestyle.
Instead of letting others find their own forms of support, he decided to start a mailing list so that people could discuss issues that arise and help each other become successful. That web page was actually one of the first Atkins’ diet web pages ~ even before the Atkins’ Site began. He had a bulletin board hosted with a different company, but after a falling out, he moved it to his own server. The need for his bulletin board was met with popular demand and the site took off quickly.
Tom wanted to help make others lives better physically and mentally by sharing the knowledge he’d learned with his own battle to fitness. He’d always been overweight. He remembers the embarrassment he’d felt as a child when his little league baseball team nicknamed him Bubbles. He also remembered those occasional awkward moments of humiliation when bending over and hearing his pants rip.
He has walked the path that we are all walking today. He understands the difficulties of learning to keep focused on your health and weight when it seems that everyone around us is marching to a different WOE. He had to practice discipline and not make any excuses to go off his WOE - even a little.
ADBB has grown bigger and better than he could have ever imagined. The ADBB started out as a way to unite overweight people and give them a place to share tips on doing Atkins. The site has exploded into a world-wide family whose main focus is to lend support and encourage each other through all areas of health, mental and physical fitness and cope with everyday issues without searching for comfort in food.
Tom would like to share these encouraging words to the ADBB members. Keep focused on what is important to you. Health should always be the main priority in your life. Food is temporary…control is mental. He feels a huge sense of pride in the ADBB and it’s membership. It is now one of the most widely recognized sites for people who are following the Atkins’ plan.

This is an article that we thought fitting to "kick off" our Anniversay here at ADBB. Please take a few minutes to give Tom a thanks and a huge round of

Thank you so much! Without somewhere to come to, even if just to read, I'd have given up already. It's because of your vision and allowing so many people to come together that I am finally on the right path. Congratulations on your anniversary and once again...Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart!

Caution I BITE!
