Re: Who Welcomed You Upon Your Arrival At The ADBB?

It has been so long ago that I don't remember. However, is there a way to dig up messages from the old message board? (Just curious.)

Yep it was Brook and Christie who welcomed me. Man that was just a few short years ago. The board launched on Feb 23rd and both Bren and I joined on March 29th I believe.

Book was the first one to offer me advice and encouragement when I was here in April of 2004. Where is she? I also enjoyed Pammie's posts...

Re: Who Welcomed You Upon Your Arrival At The ADBB?

I want to share a little story. This is not my first time at this board, I was here when it first started as a shoot off of another board, which will remain nameless. The people worked so hard to make this a great place, and I originally had the name pammie. I want to share who was sweet and wonderful with me that first time. ALL OF YOU that talk to me here now are the BEST, but I will never forget when I was first starting to figure this out, before I got dumb and went away for a while.

Bren - You mailed me my first batch of flax. I will never forget you, ever. You are still as beautiful today as you were then.

2big - You've been here since the beginning, and your advice is still as invaluable to me as it was then, when the board had so few members and many fewer forums.

tom - I am so impressed with the way you and the rest of the staff have cared for and grown this place up, into a real force to be reckoned with, and a reliable source of information in these "quick and easy is what I'm looking for" times.

There are so many others, but these three people have left a mark on my life, and they are what brought me back here, after all this time, with hope, searching for the one place I felt understood all that time ago, and so lucky still, to have found it thriving.

Many people welcomed me here but in the early days it was all about those "Challenges". The one where I met most of my friends was the 4th of July Challenge hosted by Mystique. She was a great motivator and do miss her. Others from that era were Carolina and Mello.

2big, Moochiecat and Brook...took time to answer me several times on my first post here.

It was not only them but all the others who took time to answer my questions and give their support when I first joined...and still do..that has kept me here. The dedication of the mods is AMAZING!! The helpfulness of other fellow Atkineers is very heart warming! This is a good place!! Happy Anniversary!!!
