  • Celebrating the Pledging Flights Climbers!

    I wanted to give a shout out to the climbers that are currently in the
    The challenge was started in April 2006 and
    right now we have a total of 15 active climbers.
    Together, as a group, in 2006, we have climbed
    28,400 flights!
    That's 426,000 stairs!!
    The climbers helping to make those numbers possible are

    As one of the climbers (pant! pant!) I'd like to thank you Jimmie for starting such a fun challenge! Can count the number of times I've been in a lift (elevator) on one hand since starting!!

    Congratulations to you and to all fellow climbers on those great year end statistics!

    Completed: 1st set of buildings and mountains (Everest,M.Blanc & Kilimanjaro, twice); Tower Masts & Chimneys; More virtual buildings; Challenger's Choice x 2 (volcanos and mountains on Mars). Currently climbing: Mount Snowdon again: 416/475

    Start 10 Jan 2005. Maintenance since Aug. 2005.

          That is a lot of stairs everyone!! yay

          I'm with you Sally in a little way, if I see some stairs now as an alternative route, I can't help myself, I have to take them. Of course not if it's 50 storey building though lol

            Before starting this challenge, I used to beat myself up almost daily for having forgotten something upstairs and having to make a repeat trip. I use to also huff & puff with each excursion.

            At that time, there was also a frequent cussing of the elevator where I work for being so slow (usually because I was getting there right down to the wire, schedule-wise).

            Now, both have disappeared. I look forward to any excuse to make another trip up the stairs as a progress oportunity, and I simply avoid the elevator like the plague!

            but regained ~20# in '07 in less than 3 weeks! And again early '08 ...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..."

            .................OMG how did I fail AGAIN

            Sigh ... I'll be back... life isn't always fair 10-07-09
