Hi everyone! I have been on Atkins since January 8th 2007 and I am really loving this way of life. I never thought for a million years that I would be a success story! I thought I'd always be the example of what not to do! LOL
I lost about 30 lbs in the first month of atkins and was really happy with this. I thought geesh if I can lose 30 lbs a month I'll be at goal in no time! Oh how dillusional I can be! I knew that this pace wasn't going to keep going, but a girl can dream can't she? So then the second month came around and I stopped losing weight. I was naturally freaked out, and was tempted to give in. So after receiving some sage advice from some wonderful people who hang out in journal chats, I devised a plan. I would make my goals program based not scale based, keeping faith that Atkins works and that I would eventually see results. My plan was as follows. Drink at least 64 oz of water a day, and more if possible. Exercise at least 5 times a week, but aim for 6 times. Record my food intake in fitday and try to stay around 200-300 calories above my BMR. Stay away from my scale, because I am a full blown scaleaholic, and take my measurement every Saturday.
This is the results I have seen. I hope they are inspirational to anyone who like me is a freak about results and needs instant gratification! Breaking that mentality is important. I didn't gain all of this weight in a month, it isn't going to al go away in a month. Sounds logical doesn't it? But who ever said I am a logical being?

So folks, there you have it. March madness is a resounding success and I am so happy with the results. A smaller healthier me, that can now fit into jeans that are 4 sizes smaller than when I started. I can cross my legs and I am confident when I go out places now, that people are looking at me because I am pretty and not because I am the biggest girl in the room. Try your own personal challenge or any of the challenges around here, they are well worth the effort, and you'll be glad you did.
Thanks ADBB! I will be posting some new pics as soon as hubby takes em'!
A special thank you to Adena, CathyJoBob, Biogeek, Erin, Julirama, Lyssie, Brady, Kylie, JimmieJo, and all of my other peeps in journal chats! YOU GUYS ROCK!
