I know it will be hard but we want this day and this thread to be all about you! This is your day off from visiting the 268 journals in the Journal Chats Forum. It's your day to bask in the kudos of those you have touched here on the board.

If anbody wants to chat with Jess and Adena today, drop by their journals but remember, they are on restriction and have to stay "home".

During the last 4 to 6 weeks, the Moderators of Journal Chats have been pulled in many different directions. During this time, there were days when none of us could tend to the forum and it's during those kinds of days, that we as Moderators rely heavily on our Hostesses. this HOSTESS DAY is our way of thanking you, JESS and ADENA, for keeping such a watchful eye on a forum that sillygirl, floydgirl and myself think of as "our forum". We have held the position of Hostess and know the time, effort and dedication it requires.

and now my own personal words for the two of you.............

jess, you wasted no time in impressing me with your posts. you put so much
thought and effort into what you were saying and how it was coming across.
there was no doubt in my mind, as an ex -hostess and a moderator, that you would hold the title of Hostess one day. i knew this from the day you came to Journal Chats.
jess, you speak from your heart. you give such encouragement and i see that first hand everyday as i read through the posts.
you have been a wonderful example as how we should conduct ourselves with others.
you have displayed how working our woe can help our mind, body and spirit.
you have stayed constant during the tough days of tending to you mom. without giving in or giving excuses, you stuck to what you had control over. the rest you gave to your Higher Power.
you were a success story even before you started this low carb journey.

adena, i have, also, watched you from the beginning. watching how you interact with others and how they respond to you. like jess, you come across with a genuine concern for others. journal chats got into you blood and you had a hard time realizing that the adbb had others forums that you could actually go visit! i've watched you go from a lady who needed to lose weight to a marathon runner. everyday i see more confidence in you as you continue to improve yourself. this translate into the posts you make and how you welcome all our new members to journals.


it was wonderful to sit back and watch 2 strangers living in the same town, become friends and serving together as hostesses for our journals.

for tending "my baby" and for making journals a good place to be.

Yeahhhhh.. you two sooo deserve this! Congrats!

I know alot of people don't know me now, but, I've been a 'regular' around here since January - especially in the journal chats where I 'met' jess and adena and many many others! From day one on my life change.... they inspired me...they told their stories, picked me up when things weren't peachy, and shared their wisdom every step of the way!

I took a 2 month or so 'unplanned' oops from this way of eating and Jess was right there to pick me back up and knew exactly what I needed to get focused again. She spent hours with me in pm's and on my journal getting me back on track and listening. And as always, inspiring and motivating me!

A huge thank you goes out to you both for all you do here on the forum and all you do for us each and every day in our journey!!

(Am I allowed to respond)...Personally, I don't know how Adena will stay in one place today, she is one busy gal, knows alot about alot and buzzes everywhere, she is always a touch or two steps ahead of me, can't imagine her "restricted"...
I remember when she came to the boards not too long after I did, and her way of working with the english language and wording is something I admire....She is truly the same in person, friendly, informative, aware of others, and when we run, she runs ahead with her eyes always looking back over her shoulder to make sure she did not loose me...
Thank you Jimmie for your kind words they mean alot to me. I also appreciate you allowing me to move at a much slower pace during this season of grieving, there were days I could not speak up much at all, and just a few days where I only came to read well wishes...When the silence broke in my heart, I started pouring out again here...
To all my friends here, keep your focus! Keep up the hard work and determination, and think lifestyle baby, lifestyle!!!

Thanks so much, both of you, for the work you do for the ADBB. You make this Board a much better place because of your participation! I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Jess, you are one of the strongest people I know! You also are a gifted and motivated writer. The first time I read a post of yours, it blew me away. It seems that everytime I would be going through something in my life, I would read a post of yours -- it was like you were talking to me! I get so much benefit out of reading your posts. I've seen you go through some of the worst times of your life and you have remained strong. You have truly made this a WOL. You are a wonderful person, a strong motivator and you really care about us! You are so close to goal now, that I can taste it for you, lol. I CAN'T WAIT! It has been a pleasure watching you transform your health and body. You've come so far in this last year. I know you have worked hard for it. Thanks for all of the times you worked extra hard to cover for me (and the other Mods) because of our schedules. Thanks for being such a terrific hostess! Thanks for being a special part of the ADBB.

Adena! What can I say? I feel like I know you! You mentioned before that how you are on the Board is how you are in "real life". What a pleasure you must be to know in person! I also jokingly call you the "social butterfly" of the ADBB because you have met so many of us in person. I love how you and Jess have become so close and work out together. I truly admire the efforts that you have put forth in your running and marathons. I am in awe of you! It is amazing to me how you started running, what a year ago? Now you have 3 marathons scheduled in 3 months! I love the little stories that you've shared about your life. I especially remember, I think you were at an airport, when somebody looked at your ID and looked at you standing there and said "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight". Thank you so much for the hostess job you have done. There were many times that I was out of town, out of the country and you stepped up your already busy schedule to help cover for me! You make the ADBB a better place!

HAPPY HOSTESS DAY JESS & ADENA!


I can't begin to tell you both what a pleasure it is to work with you on a daily basis. Having been a Journal Chat Hostess myself, I understand how overwhelming it can be at times and I know how fun it is too. I see how you both respond to our journalers and how they respond to you. Both of you are such an inspiration for us all. Your consistency in the journals is a big part of what keeps them the happening place on the board!

Even through life's ups and downs, you both are always there to cheer people on, give sound advice and provide lots of enjoyable entertainment! The Journal Chats have a warm place in my heart and obviously you both feel the same. It shows in your words and your photos!

Enjoy your special day, thank you for all that you do.
