    I joined in October 2006, and spent the next 7 months "visiting" while I decided to get on board. Since then it has been a Very Slow loss (But NOT a Gain) of


    38 pounds

    I love this WOL, and the support I get here, not to mention that it feels So good to help others get through challenges that present themselves.

        it appears that october is not a busy month of signing up on or board. i know that isn't true cause i sent out a boatload of pm's to october members.

        here's the good thing for november members.............. it won't be hard to bead the pants off the october members!

            I could have sworn I was an october member, but I'm not - I'm a November-girl. Wierd. I thought I found this sit a couple of weeks after I started this WOL, but it was actually 2 months.

              October member here! (My first time around).

              WOOHOO!

              According to the scale today, I've lost 89 lbs and gone from size 22 to size 10. I've quit smoking, started running and feel GREAT! I'm proud of myself, and there is no better feeling in the world than self PRIDE. I'm currently training to see if I can run a marathon in January. A MARATHON, can you imagine?? LOL

                  I feel like more people should be contributing to this. I know there are a lot more October members than just 2.

                  Anyway. I joined earlier this month, and I've lost 7 pounds so far. So that makes 134 pounds between the 3 of us.

                        I'm an October member....just got here...have very much enjoyed this board and the people I've interacted with so far. I've spent many hours of my work day ( ) reading up on all the bits of wisdom and advice.

                        I've struggled with my weight since I was a child and though I knew I was overweight, I always thought I was still in control. Then, I got pregnant with baby #1 and I was 201 at my first prenatal appointment. I quit looking at the scale but I know by the time I delivered her (8 lbs, 9 oz) I was well over 250. I'm not even 5'4" so - it was awful. Of course, with the birth, I had other priorities and I was so tired I kept putting off losing the weight. I justified it by telling myself "I just had a baby, it's okay." So - nearly 3 years later, I gave birth to my son (9 lbs, 14 oz) and at 6 weeks postpartum, I went to Weight Watchers and I weighed 221.7 - omg. I stuck to the program from 5/98 through 2/99 and got down to 180's. Then, I moved from California to Virginia ... and got pregnant again (7 lbs, 6 oz).

                        The Weight Watchers people think I should weigh 116 and though I agree I can go lower than 139...I think 116 would be unhealthy. I stuck with it and got down to 146 and then I hit the wall. Nothing I did made a difference. I was taking belly dancing, yoga, body sculpting, and this cardio class....and nothing. I ate less and less and, admittedly unhealthy, I lost the dang weight and finally hit 139.5.

                        However, about that time, I was just starting a new relationship and he likes to eat. Has a freakish metabolism, actually. Eating dinner at 10 pm, me showing off how well I cook, entertaining, parties...by last Thanksgiving I was back up to the 150's...I noticed but I wasn't worried. I had lost it before, I knew I could (operative word) work it back off after the holidays. Of course, that didn't happen. I began to get obsessive about my weight and that just made it worse. As if overnight, I was staring at 179 and I had only 3 outfits that I could fit into anymore, as I'd thrown out all of my "fat clothes".

                        One of my co-workers suggested Atkins and I was so desperate that I agreed. She told me she has been 190+ and now she's a svelte size 2 so the proof was right in front of me. Of course, as we all know, I didn't read the book (it shipped from eBay Tuesday!) and the info from my co-worker wasn't exactly accurate so while I did lose weight, it wasn't nearly as fast as I had anticipated.

                        So - now that I've found all of you guys and the ADBB, I'm back on the right track and I'm starting to lose again. I don't think I've seen that magical whoosh fairy but I'm leaving the door unlocked!

                        I'm no longer discouraged, I've got my confidence back (somewhat) and I feel good and I'm on the brink of looking in the mirror and thinking that I look good.

                        It's a tough, tough road for us - and those who haven't faced these struggles just don't understand just as one who has never smoked, I can't understand why it's so hard to quit smoking. However...I know we can all do it, but only by asking for help.

                              I joined in October. I am in my 3rd day of my 2nd induction. My first week of induction I lost 7 pounds and then the weekend came gained back 4 pounds, so this is my second attempt at induction. S/W 147 C/W 143 G/W 115. I am doing it with my boyfriend, who introduced me to it and now that he is on board at the same time I am sure I won't have any weekend lapses again. We are going to see Sammy Hagar in November and my mini goal is to lose 10 pounds in the next 17 days.
