  • 1 year down, a lifetime to go

Me and the hubby were recently chatting about the fact we have been on atkins for a year now (June 14th). He said to me he would have never thought it possible, but this is now the way we eat and not a diet to him. I am so proud of him. He has had a harder time with cravings than I. Anyways, I just had to share our success.

    Started June 14th 2007
Me started at 187ish (probally more) - currently 145-148 yippie
    Hubby started at 385ish - currently 287

Wow! Happy ATKINS Anniversary! It must feel great to think you have made a whole year, and more importantly, to have made it your lifestyle instead of thinking of it as a temporary fix. I am almost there (in my head) and reading your post is inspiring. I know I can make it permanent too. Congratulations!

Many many many congratulations to you both. My hubby and I were only talking this breakfast time about how we enjoy our food and can't think of a reason for not eating this way for ever. We then went on to wonder how much weight we could lose in a year so thank you for telling us all about your impressive loss and very best wishes to you both.

Happy Anniversary to you both! Terrific achievement! And even more terrific is that you now no longer think of Atkins as a diet, but a way of life... and are content with it.
Now that you're over the first year hump, future years will be plain sailing!

Thanks for all the wonderful words. I must say that I enjoy our WOL more everyday. My only regret is not doing it sooner. But I know we would not have been able to reach this point without the support of everyone here and in real life. And ofcourse all those yummy receipes here and on Linda's site.
