  • I did it ! 2 weeks of induction! :)

I made it! I have completed my two weeks of induction! the weight loss was slow at first but I have lost 13 pounds during this two week period! and people actually noticed! my face is much thinner and the horrible turkey thing that hung down from my chin is gretly reduced! Oh, and I have knees that can be seen! And I still wear the same size pants but they no longer leave red marks on me! I have 68 more pounds to go! I never in my life would have thought that 13 pounds could make such a difference when I have so much to lose! I am so over the top happy. The only problem I am having is severe energy drain after 4 pm. I am wondering if maybe I am losing weight to quickly. I have gone to the gym every day of induction. I am taking today off and see if that helps. As long as I'm in ketosis I can eat cottage cheese, right? I have been eating 1/2 cup everyday since day #5. also, 4 cups of spinach and one cup of another vegetable, usually broccolli, sometimes zuchinni. Also, I love eating pickles, but usually avoided them. But I am allowing myself one zesty dill pickle /day. such a treat! thanks for letting me toot my horn! this is going to be a wonderful journey! I am having no problems with cravings and my kids are being so good about no cookies in the house!

ruthie, it sounds like you lost way more than the 13 pounds! i wonder how many inches you kicked to the curb??? i hope you measured!!!!

cottage cheese is a treat you should have added on OWL 2 Fresh cheeses or what is commonly called the dairy rung. if you lost in spite of adding during induction, i reckon you might be a 'good loser'.

      Hi Ruthie,

I did the same kind of thing on induction, only with macadamia nuts. Still lost 13 pounds, same as you. I corrected the nut thing (was doing Atkins from memory of a read-through a few years ago) and continued on guessing/estimating until I could buy a food scale and am almost done doing another 2 week induction. Figured it couldn't hurt since I have over a 100 pounds to lose. Thinking abouting moving to OWL this weekend.

So you did great! For me, there was no action the week after, then another couple pounds, then my TOM came, and then like 8 pounds came off in three days, then aother week+ of nothing, and today another pound gone, putting me at 23 lost in 5 1/2 weeks.

I share this, to just encourage you to keep the faith when nothing is happening for a week or more... I really had to work at not being disapointed when nothing changed that first week after induction. Of course, everybody is different.

I can't get over how much freer my neck feels too. I hadn't thought of it as turkey-ish, but like the Boohbah in the 'before' pic in my signature line. Pretty great huh? So weird, I feel all skinny, but I am still fat as a sow-bug. Cracks me up.
