Yup. I ran the Philly Half Marathon, in 30something degree weather. It was horrific. :P I did finish it (with my worst time ever). I completely blame the cold (I started running in Jul/Aug and it was the coldest day this year). Even the folks in wheelchairs switched to the 8k instead of the half because of the temps!! It was warmer in Siberia!!
Enough excuses.
Adena and I are doing the ING GA Half Marathon 29 March. She promised me that it will not be that cold, so I should be able to feel my legs the whole race! I can't wait!
That's awesome! I want to do that someday. So far I'm just training for a 5k, and I'll take it from there. I hate running in the cold though, it makes my lungs hurt and I start to cough.

They say to use something that goes over your mouth to breathe through if you have that happening. I just refuse to run in the cold after the Philly experience.
Hiya Hon
Wow.. how similar is your story to mine... I too was a chronic smoker (nearly 40 a day or even 60 on a heavy night out), and a lot of night outs I had... then decided to give up smoking and tone down the recreational side of life and met my partner, and so the thighs began to wobble... and after 6 months I fell pregnant with my son (gained about 4stone), only lost about 2 when he was born and then fell pregnant with my daughter and gained another 3stone... -
she was born 2 and a half months ago... and I've stopped work to be on maternity leave, so now I've decided that I am going to dedicate this year to me.. and finding the slimmer me again...
I'm 211lbs currently and I'm just gona keep going trucking until I'm there.
Well done to for giving up smoking.. Its bloody difficult and the urge lessens but never fully goes away... YOU ARE A SUPER STAR..
