That's great! I keep saying I will leave my job "next month" and I'm still there. I have only worked while having my youngest home and that kind of stinks. The other two got the best of mommy! I wish you luck! That is great news. Its always good to be able to spend time with your children.

            Thanks everyone!

Jimmie...for the past couple of months I have been looking for a different job where I can spend more time with my son and have more free days from work...currently I work 4 days a week from 1-6 which seems ideal, but it's hard to have any kind of routine when your day is split in half. Mornings I get house clean & tidy (with Brandon hanging on my legs), try to make it to the gym, come home & shower...and by that time I would have to rush and get ready for work. The gym has daycare which he loves, and the days I don't go to the gym I spend time with him being creative. Every day I leave he gets so upset and cries and says ' no mommy no bye-bye' (okay that in itself breaks my heart and is reason enough for me to quit! lol) Anyway, then I come rush home and get dinner cooked.

Well, we were going through our budget, and calculated a few things...I'm pretty much working right now to just pay the babysitter. If I quit working we will earn just a little bit less each month. So...we are willing to tighten our belts a little so I can be at home with our son. I can always go back to work if I choose, but right now I am really looking forward to being a SAHM.

How will this effect my workout & atkins...Well...I will only have more time each day so I can see it should be very beneficial! I will have more time to be active...I live in a nice area close to an animal farm, and a park...we can go for nice walks. Besides that I will have more time for meal preparation which will be nice to actually try new recipes. I never have time to cook anything nice.

Re: This is a big reason to celebrate...

Congrats from another SAHM! You will love the time you have with your children. They grow too fast to put money ahead of them if you don't "have" to work.

              Have fun!!!

Congrats! I know that feeling when work/money just isn't worth it. I have stayed home almost full time with my kids since they have been born (they are 7 and 8 right now) Although we make significantly less than we used to, our life is so much more rewarding. We had an UNO marathon last night that lasted 2 1/2 hours. Definitely couldn't have done that if I was working.
