  • small celebration but a big deal to me

Day three on induction, and down 5 lbs!

The biggest celebration about that to me is that i've had no cravings for anything bad at all. at all at all! The first time (and all the other times that were half hearted) that I did atkins, beating cravings was so hard for me. Even the first time when I lost 32 lbs in 2 months I still cheated once or twice a week! I dreamed about sugar!
This time, i've had none of it, and I hope that means this time I can really stick to it! I hope i'm not jinxing myself!

I was explaining that to my Mom, how the best part was not being hungry, and not being ruled by food... being able to sit next to a display of Mint 3 Musketeers and not even care about them.

Congrats on your loss, present and future!

hah its about friggin time sunny! A few times in the past I -wanted- to do it, but I wasn't in the right mindset, something wasn't clicking and it just tapered off a week later. A lot of it was probably people around me wanting me to do bad things with them. Having friends badgering you about trying to be healthy, and not having the self confidence to say hey this is for ME not you.

kibstix, I think that everyone who is successful here experiences that "click" when wanting to make Atkins work is more important than anything you might be giving up.

Once that "click" goes off, temptation loses a lot of its appeal.

Well Done Kibstix - it's great being able to walk straight past the chocolate aisle without that mysterious force calling you in isn't it?

Yes Sunny I totally agree - this is the third time I have been on Atkins and there is a different feeling this time - it is difficult to describe. Without going too esoteric about it the best descritption I can think of is a kind of 'serenity' and an acceptance of what you have to do. I hope it lasts!

Hey y'all! DAy 8, Down TEN pounds, and still haven't cheated! Even after last night, I sat and watched the Boyfriend scarf chicken crispers, frenchfries w/ ranch, tortilla chips and beer when we went out on a date. I had steak and steamed broccoli, and hitting my 1st goal weight a month before I planned to was my reward. yay!
