  • One month in, 9 lbs down

Can I first of all say that this past month has really, really tested my determination? I started at the same weight I did in 2005. I've done everything the same, by the book, hung in there when temptation reared it's ugly head.

I lost 20 lbs in my first month in 2005.

    This time around, only 9lbs.

STILL! It's 9 lbs less than I weighed before, I'm a whole 4 years older than I was back then, haha. I suppose the only thing that's really different this time is the anti-depressants I'm on.

But I'm down a dress size, feeling better in myself, have bounds more energy, I'm sleeping better, and I am weighing less!

Just goes to show that you probably won't get the same results the second/third/hundredth time around, but if you work hard and stick with it, you'll get there eventually!

Saying that, I'm only 9 lbs down...I still have 47 lbs to go lol Baby steps

no worries steph, i'm a few days away from 1 month down and I'm barely at 10lbs. I'm trying not to compare it to last time because a lot of things have changed from 4 years ago. just keep doing what you're doing!

There are a lot of us turtles, here, but we will get there. It will just take us a little longer!

But I'm down a dress size, feeling better in myself, have bounds more energy, I'm sleeping better, and I am weighing less!
Those results, along with your 9 pound loss, are GREAT!!!

Re: One month in, 9 lbs down

Nice work. I'm into it about a month as well. We seem to be on the same path the last 5-8 years. AWOL worked fantastically for me the first time around, and I seem to remember that after about 6 months I hit my 30 lb limit. I don't recall going any lower after that. But I find myself comparing this time around to way back when I did it the first time. I was in my middle to late 20s then, now I'm 33. With 3 kids, the thought of being any more "active" made me cringe. But I do have to find time to do it. You may be finding the same issues I am in that now that we are smarter, and understand the foods we can eat, and know that we might not be eating the most common foods to help us out. Case in point, I still eat chocolate, everyday! However, it's a low carb chocolate by Russell stover, and even though it tends to give me stomach pains I need that little bit of comfort everyday. AND IT'S FINE!! Liquid sugar alcohols do not affect blood sugar (as much).
Anyways, all I'm saying is GREAT JOB! I'd love to continue to watch you progress to your goal

You're hanging in there, Stephbob and that's what counts. That's the only thing that will bring you the results you want. You do have that added bonus too, that you're beautiful!! Don't worry about the scale. You know your hard work will pay off! Are you still living with the bf's parents or have you gone home?

                  9 pounds is still great!

I've struggled on every diet in the past 2 months, ran, Zumba'd and p90x'd my way to a whopping 5 pound loss! (sarcasm... ) Let's hope this low carb diet works better for me...

~I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!! Hopefully the weight will start to really melt off during your next 30 days!
