  • One week in and i'm very pleased!

    Now i realize this is just the beginning, but after being overweight (to put it mildly) all my life, i thought it was not possible for me to lose any weight at all!

    8 pounds down, 192 to go

    Wish me luck

    Major goal (half way): 300lb met on 10/15/2009
    Mini goal: 280lb met on 12/22/2009
    Mini goal: 260lbs met on 03/23/2010
    Mini goal: 240lbs

            Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
            April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
            Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
            1st major goal met -----
            100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.

            2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
            Current weight – 209 lbs.
            Goal weight - 150 – 160

              1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
              what the rungs mean to me:
              rung 1 - more veggies
              rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
              rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
              rung 4 - berries, melon
              rung 5 - wine -
              rung 6 - beans, hummus
              rung 7 - other fruits
              rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
              rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
              Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
              (on to pre-maintenance)

                    That's great I'm really pleased for you and totally know where you're coming from. Sometimes when the numbers overwhelm me I just think about how heavy a couple of pounds is and feel elated that I'm no longer carrying around that extra weight.

                    Keep up the good work.
