  • 32 days. 15 pounds.

Just a few thoughts at this milestone while I stop to celebrate ...

    1) The lack of ... ummm ... intestinal gas, shall we say ... is a very nice side effect.

    2) It's been a week since I've taken a night-time antacid. I've taken one every night for 3 years or so.

    3) My fasting blood sugar was 88 last week!
3a) My doctor says that if I find myself tempted to quit this "diet" I'm to get a same-day appointment with her IMMEDIATELY so she can give me a mom-lecture.
    4) I don't miss the blood-sugar-plummet shakes. Those were a nearly daily thing, had been for years. They stopped in the first week of induction.

    5) The first week and a half of induction sucked. Don't wanna have to go through that again!

    6) Hey, tilapia's not bad!

    7) Okay, I'm drinking 3+ liters of water a day and my ketostix are showing me still firmly in ketosis. I'm averaging 1700 cals a day and eating my veggies religiously. Why am I still hungry so often? Hmmm, have to play with that a bit. Need to get better about keeping snacks around.

8 ) Splenda's too bloody sweet. I have NO sugar/sweet cravings, although I still struggle a bit with Sahara Pizza cravings from time to time. I've had absolutely zero desire for cakes/cookies/ice cream (which is just as well 'cause I'm surrounded by 'em at work).

    9) 15 pounds. While eating everything that I've been taught, my entire life, is double-plus-ungood for me! 15! Pounds! I just happened to have a 15 pound bag of cat food sitting in the kitchen this morning. I picked it up, set it back down, and grinned.

    10) Now where the heck am I losing it FROM? Oh, my watch band is looser!

    11) Hmmm ... I wonder what'll happen when my knee heals and I add some serious exercise into the mix?

Congrads on your accomplishments! Keep working at it and everytime you get the urge to quit pick up the bag of cat food, lol!

you are doing great!!! Doesn't it feel wonderful to go pick up the amount of weight you've lost and grin! I love doing that. Keep up the wonderful work -- I know what you mean about the blood sugar nosedives - I don't have them anymore either! I'm happy to hear your doctor is behind you in this -- my Internist isn't happy with me but since he's never had a weight problem in his life I'm not taking much stock in it!
