  • Private pilot inch-stone just passed!

After an unexpected big drop in weight overnight, I reached a "micro-goal" that I had my eye on for a while.

I earned a private pilot license a decade ago. I stopped flying when I moved to europe, but maybe I'll pick it up ago depending on where we move next. Anyway, the FAA license, which does not expire, lists me with brown eyes, brown hair, 72 inches, and 215 pounds.

Today, for the first time in 7 years, the information is accurate. yay!

Ironically, because my instructor was 6'2", 200lbs, the two of us together couldn't take a Cessna 152 during the hot humid Houston days (not even winter days). I had to rent the more expensive Cessna 172 because I was carrying extra lbs even back then.

Let's hope that my license begins to indicate false mass information once again, but this time significantly overstating the weight! Cheers!

    Mini-goals (started 9 MAR 09)
    1. 237 lbs (12 APR 09, 25% complete)
    2. 220 lbs (31 MAY 09, 50% complete, < 100 kg, < 30 "obese" BMI)
    3. 203 lbs (10 AUG 09, 75% complete, < USAF max weight, > 50 lbs lost)
    4. 198 lbs (29 SEP 09, 82% complete, < USAF criteria for "Fat Boy Program"
    5. 192 lbs
