I did have an amusing "discovery" the other day.. i'd like to share. I was laying watching tv, and i found a large hard lump in the center of my chest just above my stomach , i prodded and felt all around it, and it kind of startled me.. it felt strange to me... i had my boyfriend feel it.. and he started to laugh at me... he said.. silly.. that is your sternum. The look on my face must have been priceless , it never occured to me... i haven't felt that thing since before i had children some twenty years ago... also.. along with that .. i have been slowly but surely discovering rib bones.. didn't know i had those either.

Re: amusing discovery
I must say nice transformation of you.. you look great! sternum is the little cartilage thingy in on the bottom center of your rib cage.. couldn't be quite sure of the shape though..roundish..and whitish ... Thanks ... Happy Holidays to every one...Originally posted by JulieB View PostCongrats!...I wonder what a sternum looks like...

Re: amusing discovery
Actually, your sternum is not a "little cartilage thingy in on the bottom center of your rib cage".
It's your whole breast bone. It's what protects your heart ... and is what is "cracked open" for open heart surgery.
