  • The Stall is Broken!

I am now 20 pounds lighter than when I started!!
I was stuck at 188 for about three weeks, just kept eating the Atkins way and this morning I am 186 pounds. I am so happy. So, so happy!!
Everyone out there, if you hit a stall just keep going. Do not be tempted to go off plan, wait it out. I am so happy I did. This works.
    Good luck and good day

congrats on busting your scale stall. How many inches have you lose when the scales were stalled?

Thank you sham. You are very sweet.

I did not measure 2big. I wish I had. One of the things that keeps me positive is a single pair of jeans. They did not fit me a month ago. I could not get the button close enough together to even pretend they might fit. On a whim I tried them on a few days ago and the button closed! They were tight but the button came together. Victory as far as I am concerned ha ha ha.

I was dreading the 'the book says a true stall is four weeks....' comments LOL. I think any stall in weight loss, be it 1 week or four, is discouraging. I am just happy to know for certain now that even though the scale is not moving the inches are.
Thank you both for being kind.

Did you change anything to bust the stall or did you just keep things the same to wait it out?

                Re: The Stall is Broken!

Congratulations on breaking the stall! I'm curious if you figured out what stalled you or how you broke it as well.

I found myself in the same spot just recently. I bounced up and down on the same 3 pounds for a month! I looked a my habits and realized I wasn't drinking all my water each day. Shame on me!

So, on a Sunday I made sure I drank all my water, and Monday, and Tuesday, and Wednesday! Wednesday night's weigh in I was 1.5 lower than Sunday and at my lowest ever! I am still drinking all my water and still losing at a steady pace!

                  Re: The Stall is Broken!

lizajayne, it is funny that you mention water as your culprit. I have been dancing around on the same weight for two weeks now and I have been trying to figure out why. YES, I did cheat once at the beginning of that two week period, but I am pretty certain that was not the only culprit. (I know some will disagree, but to the point) I looked back at a really succesful week where I lost 7 pounds and tried to recreate the foods I ate that week. I had eaten a lot of avocados that week and cucumbers. I thought that may have been it, but then I thought about the weeks I "stalled" and it became clear that I was stuck at home from the snow those weeks and I did not drink much water.

With both of those changes this week I have already lost 1.5 pounds. I wonder which one makes the greater difference. Probably water!
