  • Thirty Pounds Down!

I got on the scale today and it had finally gotten to 247 which means I have officially lost 30 lbs. as of today! All of those days of suffering through my boyfriend eating brownies (and putting them in my face and saying, "You know you want one") are finally starting to pay off. I still have a long way to go but I'm so thankful for everyone on the ADBB for their support. I lurk a lot so much of what I get comes from reading other people's threads but it still helps a lot.

I've lost two jeans sizes (20 to a 16) and one shirt size (XXL to XL). There's still a lot of work to be done, but I feel so much better knowing that the sacrifice (if you can call having steak and broccoli a sacrifice) is paying off.

    I this diet!

Congratulations, I am hoping to hit the 30 mark this weekend. With regards to the brownies, you are a better person than me......If someone did that to me I would have made them brownies with extra strength laxatives and as they ran to the bathroom I would have said, "Still wanna tempt me with brownies?"

Congratulations!! How proud you must be standing right now!!

Those brownies don't have anything on you! When someone does that to me now, I just think of the struggle I have to go to afterwards. The carbs/sugar do a number on my system and then throw me off. You are right, there is no sacrifice with steak and veggies, something I would much rather have anyway!

Congratulations again! I hope to see you posting around the board!!

                Re: Thirty Pounds Down!

Thanks, Tracey! I "lurk" a lot but don't post very much. I know there was a thread on here the other day (maybe in the extended induction forum) where someone was talking about how some days you get frustrated and just want to cheat - and, of course, the responses to it - and things like that help me a lot even if I don't reply to them.

The before and after photos of people really inspire me though because I look at every single person and think about how much younger and better every single one of them looks and know that's probably happening to me too. It *almost* makes me wish I had let someone take pictures of me during Christmas (I always made myself conveniently unavailable or volunteered to take the pictures) so I'd have something to compare myself to. It's so hard when you look at yourself in the mirror every day to notice much of a difference.

                  Re: Thirty Pounds Down!

Do you have someone to take a picture of you now? You don't have to share it with anyone but yourself. It will be your own progress picture. Trust me, when you think you have not made progress, think again. The pictures really don't lie, but sometimes the mirror does because when we first lose we always see that bigger person.

I read alot of the threads myself. Sometimes it just helps me to know what others have done in certain situations. Having weekly goals has also helped me. I don't have the pressure of a larger number.... its a mind game for me! LOL
