    :wave

Just wanted to say hello. I'm 31 years old... married... and have a five year old son. I'm in my second week of induction. My husband is also. I've lost five pounds... but frustrated because I'm not in ketosis. The highest I ever got to was moderate. Anyway... I could go on... just wanted to introduce myself. You all seem like a great group of people. I look forward to getting to know you all. :hug

Welcome to the board, fellow Massachusettsite (is that a word?)

Any good for you for starting this.

One thing, I assume by "highest I ever got to was moderate" you mean testing on the strips. Well I got some good news, if you are registering anything then you are in ketosis. You can be in actual ketosis without registering on the test strips at all. All the strips tell you is how much excess ketones are being expelled. It does not tell you if the ketones are from burnt body fat or burnt dietary fat. Plus if you are well hydrated which you should be if you are drinking all of your water, the strips should never measure anything high because the ketones should be well diluted. I hope this clarified this.

It's awesome that your husband is doing this with you, it makes it so much easier. My wife was until she got pregnant again.

I wish you the best of luck.
    Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Welcome :wave and I just want to echo jim. It doesn't matter how dark they turn. ketosis is kinda like you either are or your not. Once you get used to ketosis you won't need the stix, you'll just know. Do you have a semi sweet taste in your mouth? That's a good way to tell as well.

Don't beat yourself up about it! Just pick yourself up and start again.. now tomorow, but RIGHT NOW!

Don't picture the long run.. just think about this week. Just promise yourself that you won't cheat for ONE WEEK and then see how you feel!

The first week is the hardest, but then it is smooth sailing from there (mostly), I promise!
