  • Hello from PA

Hello...just wanted to take some time to introduce myself. I'm 41, female and I'm from PA. I started ANA on April 5, 2005 after having a doctor visit that scared the daylights out of me. My sugar level was high, my cholesterol was high, my BP was high, and my weight was extremely high. Actually, the doctor visit was in February. He recommended a low carb diet. I bought the DANDR, Atkins for Life Book, Atkins for Life Kit and Atkins Carb counter. Read DANDR before starting so I knew what I was doing...and am very glad I did.

So far, I've lost 27lbs and feel better than I have in a long time. Went back to see the doc and I was very pleased with everything. My sugar level was normal, BP was normal and he was happy with the weight loss.

This board has been a great help with questions I've had and giving inspiration when needed.

I'm still in the Induction phase. It's working well and I'm not bored with the list of acceptable foods. Hardest thing for me was giving up caffine, but I did it!

Well, that's my little intro. Looking forward to meeting people on the same journey.
