  • Hello All

    :wave
My name is Vickie and I live in Kentucky. I tried Atkins last year and lost 15 pounds in about 2 months. (October & most of November). I didn't handle Thanksgiving and Christmas well at all. Since then I have gained that 15 back plus 9 more.

So I'm starting all over again with induction. I have made my shopping list and will be going to the store bright and early tomorrow morning. I'm on vacation until Monday, so it'll be easier to start now.

I've been browsing the boards today and am very pleased at the wealth of information. The last time I did this I had only the book, but with the support here I believe I will do much better.

      Thanks for the welcome Tammy.

I was up until 3:00 a.m. this morning reading posts all over the board. My husband is diabetic (type 2) so I was interested in those posts too.

My first day has been easy. It always is here at home. It's at work that I have problems. We have a kitchen area in our office which our supervisor keeps stocked: bread, pretzels, chips, snack cakes....the only thing I could eat from there would be nuts. And not even that for a while.

But I am determined to do this and if I tell the right people at work, they will be sure to reprimand me if they see me eating the 'wrong food" :whip

I just love all these little smilies.

        Welcome to the board, Vickie!

3:00 AM huh? Addicting isn't it. You've found a great place for motivation and support. We have many, many type 2 diabetics who are now off meds and have stable blood sugar from this WOL.

Prepare yourself for work, have plenty of legal snacks and you'll be fine. Things will become second nature to you.

I wich you the best of luck!
        Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Don't forget to start a journal in the journal section. Its a great place to have fun while posting how you're doing/ feeling about this WOL. Jimmie is totalling everyone's pounds lost in Journal Forum, and we're getting close to a ton! That's 2000 pounds off the world! :yes Welcome, and best of luck!

                  HI Vickie,
I am in the same situation. Last October and November I did great and lost around 20 lbs. I did fine through Thanksgiving and then thought I could handle a few trreats at Christmas. Now, here I am six months later. Of course I gained it all back. Now, I am on day Nine of induction and determined to get it right this time.
