  • Greetings!

    Hello!
This is my first week with Atkins.
I had lost 60+ lbs with Weight Watchers, but got tired of counting points and eatting every two hours to stay satisfied. I fell off the wagon, gained 10 lbs and decided to give Atkins a shot.

I started last Friday after reading the Induction phase of the book. After 5 days I just knew there was no way I could be losing any weight although my "before the fall clothes" were fitting better this week. So I cheated, stepped on the scale today and low and behold, I have dropped 9.5 lbs in 6 days! And I have not been one bit hungry!

So now I am looking forward to sticking with Atkins until I reach my goal of 180. I know it's going to take a lot of commitment because I am a carb junkie. :-( So I am looking for support and it looks like there is a lot of it here!

    Looking forward to chatting more!

:wave Hi! I bet you were mad about that cheat when you found out you'd been losing all along. Lesson learned. I didn't even bother buying a scale when I first started this WOL, thought for sure there was NO way I could eat this way and lose weight. Trust me, as the pounds melt away you may still occasionally crave carb laden food but you'll realize it's not worth it and it will be easy to say no to it. I've learned to tell myself "I don't want that." Instead of "can't have that." There is lots of support here. Sometimes people are slow to respond or things get lost in the mix. Don't ever feel neglected though. If you ask/post something important and nobody responds just give it a bump during the day when it's more likely to be seen. Welcome to ha

I've been doing this for over 2 years now.
Let me tell you tho the first week I was shocked that the scale moved.
Of course I never even owned a scale before that.

Didn't think it would work but it does!
Keep it up and feel free to ask questions.

Welcome. Glad you decided to join us. I agree, it is amazing to be able to lose weight and inches, feel fantastic and not run around hungry. I was always miserable and feeling sorry for myself on other weight loss plans. I've never been hungry on Atkins, if I do get hungry, I eat.

Best wishes to you and keep us posted on your progress.

                    Welcome to the board, Maxine!

You've foound a great place for motivation and support.
For your MIL's party, only you choose what you put in your mouth (unless people hand feed you). Be strong you'll feel better about yourself.

                    Good luck!
                    Jim

Thanks Jim, and I did survive!
Had a piece of fried chicken minus the breading, deviled eggs and a salad and was quite happy!

                      Your photos are AMAZING!
