  • Hiddy Ho Everyone!

    Hi there!

I've been posting in the 14day induction forum and didn't notice this introduction forum until today. *blush*

    Anyhoo....here it goes...

My name is Tara. I'm 14 years happily married with 4 beautiful children ages spanning from 14 to almost 2....3 boys 1 girl.

I've struggled with my weight since I was a child. I think it started hitting me in 3rd grade, as soon as I switched schools and mom was driving me everyday instead of me walking the 4km a day. (she was a teacher at the school I moved to)

As a teen, I gained and lost, lost and gained....sometimes I was happy with my weight, other times it was sheer disgust.

Once I started having children, it, of course got tougher and tougher to lose.

I had one stretch in '94 '95 where I lost 17lbs by eating a modified vegetarian diet and working out HARD every other day for months and months. Of course all this work went out the window the minute I had another child. :no

Fastforward....after I had my daughter in 2003, I was in complete dismay when I got on the scale and realized I was over the 200lb mark. :yikes THIS, was my turning point...I KNEW I had to do something about it...and now.

My health wasn't the greatest...I was having trouble keeping up with my kids...and honestly, all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep away the days. I also had post-partum depression which didn't help the scenario in any way....

I was put on Effexor and, after 2 years, I finally decided to go off of it a couple of months ago. What a blessing that was. Although, I know I needed it at the time, I have SO much more energy and motivation now. I know now that anti-depression drugs, although helpful when truly needed.....did nothing but make me complacent with life, including my weight.

As my drive came back, so did my desire to rid myself of this weight once and for all. (especially since we're done having kids! hehe)

So, here I am....ready...ohhhh soooooooooo ready to get on with it!!

I just started my second week of a clean induction and have lost 12lbs and a total of 7.5inches thus far!! Yayaya me!

I'm absolutely AMAZED at how quickly the weight is coming off, and how EASY this WOE truly is! I have ZERO desire to cheat....and I even have to remind myself to eat at times!

I've been faithful with my water consumption as well.

Seeing those first 12lbs fall off offers great motivation for me to continue, too!

I look forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences along the way.

    Welcome to the board, Tara!

Great intro! Congratulations on your success so far. It's good that you have your control back but still realize that the medication was something that you needed at the time. Good for you for being able to get off them.

You will get all the support and motivation you need here.

You are well on your way. Good luck!
    Jim
