  • Hello!

    Well, I guess it's time to introduce myself. I've been lurking and reading and absorbing and enjoying everyones' posts for the last 2 weeks now. I started induction 6/25 and did pretty well with the first three days. Today was day number 5 and I'm really starting to enjoy this. A couple ladies I know and myself email back and forth and they said the menu plans are right on target. I couldn't help it though and peeked at the scale because no way does it feel like I'm eating to lose, but it was down 6 lbs. So something is right.

    Anyhow, my name is Kathie, I live in central Missouri, homeschooling mom to a teen & a tween and I've been married to my highschool sweetheart for over 16 years now. I've got 220 lbs to lose and I started dieting in April. As of right now, I've lost 23lbs.

    I find so much inspiration & encouraging words when I come and visit ADBB. I'm so glad to find you all.

    HW 381/A-SW 364/CW 351/GW 175 Height - 5'4"
    2nd Short term goal: 350 - Half Of Me Gone goal: 191 - Goal Weight: 150
    Completed Goals: 1st Short term goal: 360

    I'm pretty new here too, and also new to Atkins SD was 19th of June...

    I know what you mean about not feeling like you are eating to lose...I always feel so full (well, not 'over' full) and am very rarely 'starving' like I used to be. I always expect to see no change when I get on the scale but that's certainly one time I like to be wrong. :yes

    Wow, congrats on your inital weight loss! 23lbs is nothing to scoff at! :joy

      Welcome to the board, Kathie! I am always glad when people stop lurking and start joining in the fun. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Getting past this is a burden and enjoying the food selection will only make you that much more successful.

        Well you've come to the right place.
        Read all you can (have you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution v2002? Twice? It's the bible for this web site) including the stickies in the FAQ section.
        Ask a lot of questions...post issues and good stuff too.

          Welcome to the board, Kathie!

          I lurked for several weeks before I joined too. But I'm so glad I did. The motivation and support here is incredible.

          And 23 pounds is awesome!

            Thanks for the nice welcome everyone and the congrats on the weightloss!

            Iap, I can tell you, that I have read through the book and couldn't believe how the whole diet works. I'm working on putting my whole family on a form of this, as maintenance, so yes.. I'm rereading it now.
