  • Day 2

Well, here I am, starting day 2 of Induction, and as silly as it sounds, I haven't "cheated" yet. It's very tough when you work at the hospital...we nurses like to have these "team meetings," which always means leftover cookies, cakes, etc--of which i did not partake

Anyway, I suppose my goal of weight loss is to become healthier by reducing my BMI..but also it's for my wedding--BF just proposed and I want to blow his mind when I walk down that aisle.

I'm thrilled with this board....it's full of advice, recipes, and encouragement, and I truly hope I can utilize it not only for my own success, but for my future health and energy.

    Re: Day 2

Congratulations on the engagement! If that's not incentive to do this then I don't know what is! You're going to do fantastic, just find the cheesecake recipes on the board and make one to take so you can enjoy while the others are too.

Hang in there. I've been on induction 12 days now and I'm living proof that it does get easier with time!
    Hugs,
    Kathie

      Re: Day 2

Hi,Brujita, Nurse, RN, here too!!! Boy, do I understand. We have donuts, scones, cakes, cookies, etc, every darn day at the office, too. I just say to myself I can not have ONE bite of any of it.

Also, I bring legal foods to the office each day such as chicken wings, cottage cheese, cheese, salami, and other goodies to snack on. The thing I try to avoid is hunger. I eat everytime even a twinge of hunger comes. It has kept me from the sweet snacks so far.

Good luck with your weight loss!

        Re: Day 2

I've been at this for almost a month now, and I have to say, it will only get easier! Very rarely do I have cravings anymore, and when I do, I just ask myself how much I really want whatever I'm craving... Usually, the answer is no a whole lot! I find that I reach for things more out of habit than actual want! Like fries off my fiance's plate!

Congratualtions on the engagement! I too would love to blow my fiance's mind when we get married next year, so my fingers and toes are crossed for you!

          Welcome to the board, Brujita!

You'll get lots of support and motivation here! My wife is a nurse too and I know about the leftover sweets, because my wife is usally bringing them in because I won't eat them. LOL

          Good luck!
          Jim
