Hi!
My name is Melissa and I am just starting my 4th week of Atkins. I am doing an extended induction since I started out with 64lbs to lose. I have lost 14 so far, but that was only in the first two weeks, and I have now hit a wall. I'm not gaining which is great, but I'm not losing either. Now normally, I have a tendency to be instant gratification girl, meaning that it I'm not getting the results I want right away, I stop what I'm doing. I am proud to say that upon entering my 4th week of Atkins, I haven't even been tempted to cheat or to stop doing Induction just because my scale is being a jerk!
I know that the scale is not the be all and end all of weight loss and that I need to measure myself as well as take pictures (which I am going to do today, I swear!!
). I'm also using a pair of pants that I bought last year on the premiss that one day in the very near future, Iwas goignt to fit into them... They have been sitting in my dresser since then. I am so close to fititign them now... I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for getting past a stall. I could definitely use some encouragement!
I have tried all kinds of diets, and just now at the age of 25 (well, 26 next week), I am realizing how much damage that can do to your body. The last diet I did was Weight Watchers where I lost 30lbs, lost interest, and lost some self esteem when I promptly gained back 10lbs! I've decided that diet is a four letter word and is only a bandaid for being over weight. I want to change the way I eat and the way I view food and myslelf for that matter, for good. It sounds corny, but when I read "Diet Revolution", I had the feeling that this is definitely something I can do... Finally!
So, all that being said, if anybody has any tips they can pass on to someone new, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!
