  • New to Atkins

    Hi everybody!
Well, Ive been reading your posts everyday...and it helps sooo much. I am on day 5 of induction. I lost 6 pounds RIGHT AWAY. I am using the ketostix. I love them..they make me feel like Im doing something right!!
I am 31 years old. I weigh, as of today, 146 pounds. I never ever weighed over 115-120 pounds, until I had my son, who is now 3 years old. The climb to 152 was slow, but when I realized my clothes didnt fit, and that the ONLY thing I had to wear was sweats, I knew I had to do something diffrent. I tried low fat diets, low cal, etc. Nothing but slow GAIN. Yikes!!! So right now, Im a size 8. In order to wear anything in my closet, I need to be a 3 or a 5.
I would like some help on a couple of issues. I know Im doing well so far, but what about coffee? I have to admit, I LOVE coffee, and havent given it up. However, it doesnt make me crave sugar. I love this diet, I LOVE meat. Also, are any of you ladies having success while on birth control pills? Would love some input..and I am also looking forward to getting to know some of you...you ALL seem soooo nice, and so helpful. Thanks in advance.

    Re: New to Atkins

Hi sheropesem, welcome to the ADBB.

I'm not on BC but my sis is and she easily lost 45 lbs so I wouldn't worry about them. As far as the coffee goes, if you want to do things by the book you should switch to decaf. Why don't you post in the induction forum for better help with your questions since alot of folks don't come here to the intro forum ...there are alot of folks over there who will be happy to help you out!

        Welcome to the board!

And yes absolutely switch to decaf. I forget the reason but when someone told me it made sense, I wish I remember what it was. Oh well! You'll get plenty of support and motivation here.

        Good luck!
