Hello, everyone. I last posted to ADBB about a year ago, when I hit my goal. On July 17, 2004, I finally shed the last few pounds and reached 204, down from 264.
It took me five months to lose the sixty pounds.
I then set some new goals for myself. Knowing that it is much, much harder to keep weight off, especially for the first year, I made a deal: keep the weight off for that year.
The parameters were simple: watch what I eat, stick to a largely low-carb/low-calorie diet. Treat myself every once in a while. Weigh myself every day. _NEVER_ let myself get above 210.
And I did it. Sticking to my diet, I never got above 209 - even during the rough holiday and vacation times (I even lost weight on vacation!).
Every time I think about possibly putting on weight, all I imagine is carrying around 60lbs of weights with me, all day, every day. That nips any urge to go off the diet in the bud.
Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Andrew Langer
