    Hi, I am a new member, 41 female, and I did Atkins 2 years ago successfully, but didn't maintain and gained the weight back. I tried S.B. recently but didn't lose much weight. One question I have is, is it okay to just have an Atkins shake or Atkins breakfast bar for a meal, or will that slow you down because of some of the ingredients? I have been doing that for a few weeks and haven't lost weight. I didn't start with induction this time, but I think I will have to. I was just trying to reduce my carb count and sugar on my own without following a strict plan. I guess I need to get tough and start induction again...

    Hi rozier!

    Glad to see you here! There is a lot of information on these boards and plenty of support.

    I've read (here) that the bars & shakes do stall weight loss, so you might just want to opt for whole foods for now. You might want to take out your list of "Acceptable Foods" and just stick to them for two weeks and then try moving on to Ongoing Weight Loss.

    I had went through Induction last year, but got side-tracked. So, I'm re-starting again too. This is my second day of Induction. If you can get past the first three days, you've just about got it licked.

    Come on and join us, bite the bullet and start Induction and see how good you can feel!

      Hey, welcome to ADBB, glad you found us and if you like, check out the Second Time Around Club as we have been there and done that.
      The "ADBB" official word about shakes and bars is do your self a favor and dont have any for at least the first two weeks. That gives you the best start on this plan. After if you want to try them, its not as bad, BUT at the first sign of a stall, ditch em,

        welcome back to Atkins. You need to hit the 14 day induction forum and get your fat burning metabolism revved up.
