  • And so it begins...

Hi all... just started my Day 1 of induction this morning... did all the grocery shopping yesterday, cleaned out all the stuff that needed to go bye bye from the kitchen, etc.

I had done Atkins with great success once before. I originally started out at 265 and was able to get down to 205. Then I rebounded back up to 235. At that point I went to the dark side (WW) and got back down to 220... but alas, here I am back at 235 again... and returning to what works for me... Atkins.

I have my "before" pictures taken... front, side, and back in a pair of gym shorts... Im just disgusted looking at them... that isnt me. I am very much torn at whether or not to post them. I want to... but possibly after there is some progress and a set of "after" pictures have been made.... on the other hand, I feel that just "sucking it up" and showing them would be humbling and help me stay on track... any ideas or input on this?

Anyways, I just wanted to stop in and say hi and let you know I will be around... alot!

PS - For any of you that may remember me from the first time around (almost 2 years ago!) feel free to say hi!

    Take care,

    Erik

Hi Erik! Welcome Back. I remember you well and remember watching your progress. You did it before you can do it again.
Do it...... post the pictures! IMHO, makes you alot more accountable. Check out the "second time around" forum, think you will see alot of familiar faces there.
    I wish you much success!

Hey Bren! I remember you as well.

I checked out the STA forum, thanks for pointing that out to me.

As an admin, should I just post those pics in the "before and after" or in the forum I look like I will be in mostly? or doesnt it matter?

      Thanks for the welcome back!

          Hi Erik,

Welcome back!! This is the best place to get lots of support and encouragement to lose the weight once and for all. We are all here cheering for you. Some advice I can give you is (1) Do the weight loss plan exactly as Dr. Atkins suggests. It does work if you work it. (2) Utilize the ADBB site to help you keep motivated. (3) Don't give up no matter what happens in your life. We all have 'bad' days when our kids misbehave/people make us angry/we get sick or someone in our family is facing hardships, but don't let that be a reason to give up. Instead let it be a reason to try harder so that you can be strong and healthier.

Another bit of advice is to plan everyday. Plan when you will exercise, when you will eat and what you will eat. If afternoons are when you usually cheat, then make up some 'emergency baggies' of foods that you can munch on to get you through those difficult times. Soon it will become a habit and you won't have to think about it.

We all want you to succeed. This site is full of inspirational people who help each other through the difficult times and cheer for each other when we are having success. BEST OF LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED!!!

I'm with you Erik! Although I've still been keeping my carbs relatively low over the past few months (average of 60 says Fitday.com), I've regained about 10 stubborn pounds and realize that I'm slipping on the exercise/water/cheating fronts. I'm back on induction at the moment and stepping up my time at the gym to try to get back on track and into the groove.

              Good luck to you!

Erik . . . where is the before and after section? I went looking in ADBB Gallery, but just got more confused.

                        Thanks ~
