  • Starting atkins back up

I'm restarting atkins after going off it for almost 6 months, i've gained 8lbs.

I went over my carb intake today isntead of 20gms of net carbs I had fourty.

I've been having like 200gms a day though and restricting like that was really hard. I kept getting hungry like whoa every two hours.

I tried to go on the carbohydrate addicts diet but I didn't like it as much as atkins I would always binge on my reward meal.

    My intake

Breakfast - Nothing.. coffee with sugarfree caramel creamer & aspartame = 35c (i know, you dont have to tell me)
Lunch - cauliflower with light butter = 80c (i know its not on the induction list)
Snack - 1/4 cup no fat cottage cheese = like 40 i think (again i know)
Snack - 7gms of carbs & 35c per slice bread with half a tbl spoon of peanut butter (again lol I know) = 170
Hamburger with cheese on light bread & broccoli with sour cream. = 390c

I know its not exactly atkins but i'm working my way towards it. I'm thinking by Friday my body will be feeling better and I should have my carbs down to 20gms or less and I can start doing it by the book.

Welcome! I weaned myself onto induction, too. Then I got beat over the head for having LC ice cream on it . Funny - the week that I wasn't quite doing it by the book was the week I lost 4 lbs......hmmmmm.....Anyways, welcome to our crazy board - feel free to make yourself home in the Journal Chat section and start your own. Make sure to look around and get to know some of us losers (meant in a good way ). Feel free to post when you have a question.....or comment, criticism, personal life story.....

Girl, where is the protein, thats why your having trouble, you need to eat carbs, fat and protein at every meal otherwise you will stay hungry.
Have a hard boiled egg for breakfast or precook some sausage so you can grab it in the morning, even string cheese would work.
Check out the Second Time Around Club down below. They are a great support team and lots of fun also.

          Welcome aboard !!
A very good move of you to come and look in here, cause you deffinately need some tweaking in your meals, hehehe.
If I was you I wouldn't even wait with starting it, cause the way you are handling this now is not gonna help anything.
First of all start eating breakfast !!!
It is very important to get your motor running and drinking only a cup of coffee will not do the trick, you know.
Indeed start eating protein, very important.
You want to see a balance of 5% carbs, 30% protein and 65% fat, the ideal combination to start losing.
What will really help you is reading a lot of the stickies on the board and I bet you will find the ideal way for you to lose weight and not get hungry at all.
Oh, and Cauliflower IS on the induction list, it's one of the 1-cup-a-day veggies
          Happy losing to you !!!!
