Just thought I'd say hello, I've been looking at ADBB for the last two weeks and its been really helpful and inspiring - thank-you all.

I'm on extended induction as from today - as although I stuck to the rules, I couldn't shift my fizzy drink habit and it was all zero carb it all had aspartame in and I think it stalled me, because I started off so well and then stopped. So now I'm going for two weeks with no fizz... hopefully.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for being so inspiring, I just hope I can be as successful as you!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Welcome Jen,
Stalls are (unfortunately) common and there are some tricks that might help you.
Use fitday.com. It will give you an accurate count of carbs minus fiber.
      Up your water some
      Up your exercise some
Post a menu for the experts to see cause they might see something that you don't.
Measure yourself and don't worry about the scales. They are evil and lie, and we hate them. But the tape measure NEVER lies LOL
Glad you found us and glad you joined. This is the most supportive site on the web.

          Re: Inspired

          thank-you all.

For the first time in my life I've been really good on the excercise front and am doing about an hour a day - since about seven weeks ago when my grandad called my fat three times in about half an hour I was thinking I could do it by exercise alone, but after four weeks nothing had changed (I've been alternating an exercise video with weight training) so I decided to start atkins. I did it once years ago but only for a very short term goal, so put back all the weight I had lost and then after I had my baby last year I put on a heap more

I have a fitday account and am trying to remember to put everything in, and I have just found a measuring jug with "cups" on so am happy about that. I really feel like this time I can do it - anything to avoid being called fat again - or, having my best friends mum 'suggest' it might be time I lost some weight

Anyway, sorry for the ramble, I just realised I didn't put very much in my introduction

welcome to ADBB. you will find that a post induction hesitation in weight loss is a common thing for all. Check your inches and see if you aren't still shedding fat while your body is morphing the fluid levels in your tissues to cope with your rapid shape shifting.

Some folk call it PISS as in post induction stall syndron me I think it is just a hesitation not a stall

Nice to meet you! That's great that you are already exercising so much, and I'm sure with Atkins you will do so well! Good luck!

and thanks for that 2Big4mysize, a hesitation sounds much more promising and I will check the inches - I've been good and put the scales away, and already genuinely forgot where I put them (I don't think I ever recovered from pregnancy my brain is still mush!)
