Hi all,
Greetings from out here in the great Pacific Northwest, USA. I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been reading this site and did a whole bunch of research on diets- their affects, maintenance programs-their affects, pricing, safety, overall health risks/benefits, etc. and decided I'd take the Atkins plunge. My wife is doing it along with me. We both started last night and, quite frankly I'm darned surprised at how much food we consume during this induction phase.
Since I quit smoking in April of this year I ballooned up to over 265 pounds. I have high blood pressure, drank coffee like a fiend and was totally in the worst shape I've ever been in during my 51 yrs. life.
I found myself depressed, very low self esteem, out of breath at the slightest physical exertion, lethargic, restless at night, exhausted during the day--- constantly eating crap and hitting the wine bottle a little more than I should.
I had to change or die! Simple as that. One day into it (after dinner) and I can feel changes happening already.
Thanks for all of the support.
Here's my stats:
Male
51 yrs. old
6-01 tall
sw:273 pounds
gw:205 pounds
