    Hi...newbie here!

    Hi All!

    Just wanted to post a little intro before I get started looking around the boards. From what it looks like already, just veiwing the intro posts, ya'll are a very supportive and friendly group here! I look forward to getting to know you all!!

          Toni,

          Welcome to the board. I think that you will find we are a welcoming and zany bunch. Beware, we do like to have fun! It looks like you have found a nice place to hang out on the web. Do you have the Atkins book? If not, that should be the first thing you do and second, start chugging H20.

            Lauren: Thanks! I'll let you know if I need something. It seems pretty well organized in here so hopefully I should have no problems finding things...I hope..lol!

            Deb: Thanks for the welcome. Glad to hear that you guys/gals are a fun bunch! As for your question about Dr. A's book....I have it and have read it many times but could never manage to make myself stick to any WOE for an extended period of time. I have tried WW, JC, LAWL, and all the other fad diets that have come up throughout the years. This is my 3rd or 4th attempt at Atkins and it seems to be working for me this time, guess I just didn't have the right mindset before. Oh, and as far as the H2O is concerned....I have a serious problem there. I know I need to drink the water, just have some problems choking it down most days. This is something I really need to work on. Any water challenges going on (haven't quite made my way through all the boards yet)?

              Toni,

              I am not sure of any water challenges going on, but I bet someone might start one with you if you want. I am an H20 lover so I am drinking water all the time. Of course, sometimes I feel like I am floating, but it is cleaning me out (what I tell myself).

              As for a mindset, that is the biggest hurdle in this WOE of any other in fact. Your head and your heart have to be in it to win it. You can do it. If you have to write it on your bathroom mirror in soap so you see it everyday-- "I can do it!". Every day, read it and soon you will believe it.

                Toni!! Welcome to ! I hope you will enjoy your stay here, hopefully a permanent stay, as this is a Way of eating not a diet. I love the way you did your signature by the way with all that neat information about yourself. That would be neat if members did their signatures like that too, would be nice to know more about others without having to ask them directly!

                  I totally agree! I am pretty sure this has been my problem for the last 5 years since I have managed to just lose/gain the same 30 pounds over and over!

                  Now that I have a different mindset the weight is just falling off, slowly but surely!

                    I didn't add that info to my signature just the bottom of the post for my intro but now that you mention it...lol...I just might do that!

                      Welcome Toni, glad you found us and joined. Hope to see a lot of you, wait, hope to see less of you on the board a lot. ????? Hope to see a little you a lot on the board.
                      Oh nevermind. I see your from the East Coast. If'n you put a f or m in your siggy you can join the ladies forum or the Mens club. Check out chitchat, its run by crazies' and start a journal or two. They are a good way to mark your progress.
                      Also, we don't take much stock in scales around here, but tape measures RULE, so go get yourself measured so you can watch yourself shrink.

                        Thanks for the heads up on the womens forum, I'll add that to my siggy pronto!

                        Oh yeah...and I have recently been measured at Curves where I work out...just don't remember my measurements at the moment so I'll see if I can get a copy of them tomorrow when I go.

                        Once I do that I'll go ahead and start myself up one of them thar journal thingies....lol!
