    Just popping in to say hello and glad to meetcha! I've been lurking and I finally ordered Dr. Atkins book today. I read on one of the threads that it's a good idea to start your new woe on a day when your schedule is a little lighter. So for me I guess that will be the Friday after my book arrives. I just want to say I'm so impressed with everyone's accomplishments and enthusiasm and I look forward to chatting with you all.

    Hi Sunny, Glad you found us and joined. This is a good group and very helpful so if you have any questions just let us know.
    My favorite bit of advise to the new kid is measure yourself cause tapes don't lie like the evil scale does.
    Also the first time you go shopping at the grocery store, do it when you have lots of time and your alone. You can go slow, and browse, and read labels and think "no wonder I'm overweight, OMG that has 500 carbs. LOL

      Welcome Sunny... that's great advice that Lynne just gave. You'll find everyone supportive and helpful here. ADBB is a wonderful place to keep the enthusiasm up.

          Thank you so much for the warm welcome. Desertthorn that is great advise. I also read on one thread to go through the cupboards and get rid of pasta, bread etc. I guess our local food center is going to love me. One of my favorite fix in a hurry sides is Lipton Cajun style rice. OMG it has 50 grams of carb in 1/2 cup serving and there's 2 1/2 servings in each bag. I always fix 2 bags and it's just hubby and I. Groan!!!
          I do have a question. My husband has RA and most exercise is out of the question. Does anyone have any good ideas? Swimming is one thing he can do comfortably but we don't have access to a pool.
