  • I'm hoping this time will be different

Hi, I'm Nell. I saw Cleochatra's before and during pics over on the HT board and I was so impressed I PMed her about my plight.

MY DH started Atkins in April of 2003 and lost 28 pounds, he has pretty much kept it off. I have much more to lose. I started out with him, but I felt sick and was constipated and wanted fruit and bread so bad, I couldnt function or consentrate. So, I gave it up.

Cleo told me that those feelings are normal and only last 2 weeks, at the most. So............today is my first day and I'm hopeful.

I will tell you that I am afraid, afraid of failure, afraid of being sick. But, I'm going to give it my best.

Hi there. I just want to say, I'm with you in feeling afraid - I'm scared too that I won't be able to finish it. The one thing I know though, is that the difference between winning and losing is that a winner gets up one more time than the loser...Good luck to you!

You guys, I know how absolutely freaky-scary it is starting out. When I did I felt like something the cat ate and coughed up, and all the time I'm thinking, "I feel awful! And I'm eating all this stuff I can't eat on any other way of eating. This is so totally wrong".

This is where faith totally comes into play! You give it the 2 weeks and all of a sudden you find that you are feeling so good! You are going to feel like new people. I know it seems impossible now, but it's true!

I will help you guys iron out your reasons for self-doubt. Just lean on me a little bit, ok? That's what I'm here for. I'm here for you!

Thanks Cleo, I keep looking at all of the before and after pictures and hoping for inspiration.

Cy6erpuke......(I have to smile just typing your screen name)......let's try to take this journey together. I'll PM you tomorrow and we'll compare notes and stats.

          Hi Nell and welcome!

I felt awful during induction too and nearly gave up, but then I found this board and reading the posts kept me going, I hope it helps you too... I'm a bit delayed in my welcome, so I hope it's going well!
