  • Hi from South Africa

    I've stumbled on this site by sheer luck! I've spent last night reading all your stories to get some inspiration to start - consider me inspired! I have no excuse for being fat and miserable, I did the wrong things, it happened. I have failed so many times on other diets, and this time it will be different. Someone told me once, if you don't change direction, you'll end up where you're heading. A very scary thought indeed! It's time to change direction and that is why I'm here.

    Looking forward to success, good luck to all today!

          Hi Karen, congrats on losing 6lb so far, I only started today, feel good but must plan my day to go from bathroom to bathroom!? This normal? I live in Nelspruit, it's 'vrek' hot here today, 34 degrees, hope it will rain later so we can cool down! Hows Mosselbaai?

            Hi Nenane, we are also hoping for some rain, but our problem is the "veld"-fires. Have you seen it on the news? The mountains have been burning since Friday and we had a very bad South-Easter the last couple of days, which didn't help at all.

            I am very proud of my 6lb. I lost 4 the first week and then stalled. I started drinking more water yesterday and .... siedaar!!! 2 more!! The trips to the bathroom also increased together with my water consumption! So I suppose it's normal.

              Hi all of you from over the sea. Good luck to all of us. I hate to show my ignorance, but what language were you speaking?

                Hi,

                Well, trips to the bathroom is quite normal - even when I am not drinking a lot of water, I still have to go .... so, I suppose it is normal during the first few weeks. Maybe one of the more advance Atkins dieters can help with this.

                Must admit, I had a "not so good" evening, but will sleep on this and carry on in the morning.

                NelB - the language we are speaking is Afrikaans, one of the 11 languages of South Africa - yes, can you believe it 11!!

                So, groete aan al my Afrikaanse Maatjies!! (This means goodbye!!)

                      I don't know if it is normal, but I normally feel really bad the first week of Induction. This should pass soon and you will have a lot more energy. Vasbyt!!

                          Hi Ninane,

                          Karin phoned me last night after reading the message. Ja, wat het ek gedoen!!

                          No, I did not cheat, I just ate too much "legal" food and was feeling very uncomfortable and very disappointed. Because I've been trying keeping down the calories as well. So this was a little disappointing for me, but, today I am back with a vengeance.

                            Don't watch calories in induction. Focus on doing Atkins. The calories take care of themselves! {{{Tania}}}
