  • Not exactly new - but look who's back

As the subject says, I was here in 2003, around the same time...

I did 2 weeks on Atkins and lost 8lbs! Shocking!!

But family and friends were so convinced that the diet was unhealthy, they weened me off it...

After trying from January 2004 to October 2005 to lose weight on other diets, Slimming World, Slim Fast, Weight Watchers, I totally failed... in spite of counting calories and all that tosh, i actually put weight on!!!

So now, here I am... scheduled to go to Mexico in 29 days for a 2 week holiday in the sun... Determined to lose weight, and what do i KNOW works? ATKINS!!!

I got back on the Atkins Band-wagon yesterday with food as follows:

    Breakfast - 2 Sausage, 2 Bacon

    Lunch - Chicken

    Dinner - 3 Sausage, 2 Bacon & A Fried Egg

    Today, it's been:

    Breakfast - 2 Sausage, 2 Bacon

    Lunch - Chicken

    Dinner - to be confirmed...

I've been drinking so much water, i could probably drown a child in it... Having had 17 cups yesterday!!! and already, at mid day today, 8... I'm determined to make this work this time, working with atkins to lose as much weight as quickly as possible, and KEEP IT OFF.... I've got my plan of attack drawn out, and we're moving the troops in for the kill!

29 Days... No weight target set... but overall target is to lose 98lbs!

Wish me luck!! And welcome me back!

Welcome back to Atkins, Andy. Ignore all the negative comments...Atkins does work!! I have been doing it since March 2004 and my doctor is thrilled with the improvement in my health.

I'd suggest you re-read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002, take your supplements, exercise and drink lots of water. I have no doubt you'll make goal in no time and have fun doing it. Best wishes!!

Hey meep - I don't see any veggies on your menu! Don't forget, in Induction we have to have 3 cups of Induction veggies a day!

I'm working on the veggies... As they say "Watch This Space"... I have a VERY hard time with Veg... and, if i'm honest... when i lost 8lbs in 2 weeks last time... it was a veggie free diet...

          But we'll see what happens......

without supplements (thy make them liquid ofr kids) and no veggies you are going to become what everyone warned you about last ti,e. You will get some of them in your vegies if you jake good choices.

YOU need your minerals and vits to make Atkins work cause fat burning requires different carrier molucluse different enzymes and a host of co molucules too that your body needs to be making without the needed vits and mimerals you are going to grind to a halt and you will be come a very unhealthy person too.

                  Mee,

Welcome back. My husband can't take pills very well either so he has been buying his supplements in liquid form. They are put under the tongue with this eye-dropper thing. My sister runs a CVS pharmacy and they have them there. I hope this helps.

Hey, sugar! Welcome back! I was involved in a debate with a dietician in an email conversation about Atkins being every bit as safe as Weight Watchers, if not healthier. Some people just won't listen. She wouldn't listen. Even with proof, they don't listen!

Lots of folks have trouble with the vegetable part. Do you dislike all veggies. Is there something that you like. Can you find Jicama in the UK, its like a non-sweet apple, crunchy and juicy. Or how about mushrooms? Celery with cream cheese. Celery with ranch dip. Some times eating them raw, broccoli, cauliflower, muchrooms with a dip is really pretty good. Or try broiling them or even better grilling the.m
Glad you back and its going to be fun watching you shrink.

                              Hi and welcome,

Lots of people are sceptical about Atkins, this time just ignore them, you know what works for you, and how great you look and feel will be proof enough for them

Oh and you have the support of everyone here
