  • New and Loving It!!

    Hello Everyone,
I started induction on Wednesday and have already lost 10 lbs!! While most, if not all, is water weight...it's just the inspiration that i needed. I am starting Curves today. I have 30lbs of Mama weight that I have been carrying around for four years....It's time for it to go! Ten down....twenty to go! I'm ready and I'm not giving up! My starting weight 155, current weight 145, goal weight 125.

I have a question for the senior Atkins dieters.......
I was down to 145 on Friday, then up to 150 Saturday, TOM-Sunday still 150, then 148 today.
    What's the deal?
I haven't cheated at all, is this because it's my TOM or is it my water stabilizing or am I doing something wrong?

    Mama,

It sounds like your body it adjusting to all the new things you are throwing at it. I mean, you are eating much differently now, you are exercising which is shocking to your system and you are probably drinking much more water than you used to. It takes a while for the body to get used to all those big changes at once, but your body will follow along. Just give it time to catch up. You are doing a great job so far!

Welcome to Atkins and to ADBB

      Congrats on your loss.

could be TOM could be salt in food could be lots oif things. if it bothers you that your sclaes are off the wall then put it away.

You will see your weight can vary by several pounds judst in the course of the day. there is no way to know if you are doing something wrong with out knowing what you ate and drank and how much exercise you are doing. if you want to you can either start a journal and the journal gang will check you or you can post in the review my menu forum for getting your eating checked.

        Thanx for your advice.

I will start a journal, but where do I do that at? Yes, I am a little obsessed with my scale and should prob put it away, but even in saying that I prob won't I hope things will catch up soon, that first fast loss of 10lbs was awesome...I hope the other 20 comes off as easy.

        Thanks again!

          Hot Mama,

The best advice I can give you is to put the scale away and get out a tape measure. The scale is so unrealiable, but the tape measure it much more reliable. If you live and die by the scale you will be on a roller coaster with no end. I was that way until I hit a stall. I am not losing pounds, but I am losing inches. Put the scale away and step back slowly.

Girl, you lost 30% of your weight in induction?! That is beyond success! The rest of the weight might come off a bit more slowly, but exercise, stringent eating and knowing this is something you plan to stick with for the rest of your life is part and parcel of the thinnie minnie you! You'll hit that goal soon enough! Way to go on an amazing loss so far!
