  • Hi...Just starting for the second time

    Hi all,

    I have decided that this is make or break time, and i am going to actually do it. I am sick of my life at the moment and really need to start making some changes. I'm 5'6" and about 266 pounds (which scares me just writing it down). I've tried Atkins before and failed, but this time my head is in the right place and i want it so bad. My goal is to get down to 154 pounds. Any advice or encouragement is very welcome. The next week will be the greatest test of will and then I'll be able to get it together.

    Hi Hannah! Adding to that, New Year's is coming up! why not make change now and celebrate a new you in 2006!

    What an awesome gift you're giving to yourself! Advice: you've done this before, so make sure you check out the Second Time Around Forum for extra advice, support and discussions about getting it right this time. I know you'll make it!

        Hi Hannah, and welcome back! You're in the right place for support and motivation. Get a copy of DANDR and read, read, read,,,,just to refresh your memory. Istill refer to the book after 10 months on the plan. Consider this a WOL (way of life), rather than a diet, as this should be the way you will be eating for life. Eating right is a matter of learning the how to's and when to's, and having them becoming habit forming. Plan, Plan, Plan, and when in doubt Plan some more. If you plan, you will not be tempted by the unknown, that upcoming dinner, that trip away from home, that vacation, Christmas parties. Don't forget water and exercising are key elements in your success as well. An when in doubt, come to the board and ask away. There are always people here to help you! Looking forward to hearing about your future successes!

                You CAN do this. I noticed the little sadface you added to the subject line, but there really is no need to feel that. You should be happy in the fact that you are here and that you are going to do it! Just concentrate on doing a clean induction and you will be dropping pounds and inches in no time.
