  • Hi Everyone..!

My name is Laura, I am in my 6th week of extended induction. I've lost 20 lbs so far, but have a long way to go.

We recently purchased a treadmill, and I make it a point to walk at least 2 miles a day, and if time allows, sometimes 3 or 4.

I have found it easy to stay on induction, and the results are beginning to show..thank goodness..!

I have read alot of good information on this site, and I appreciate all the stories and especially the before and after pictures of the members. If I could figure out how to resize some of the ones I have so they'll post..I will try to do one of my before and durings.

Thanks again for being here..! Gives me hope, and the strength to face each new day..and challenge..especially my bosses attempts at sabotaging my diet...grinz

            Welcome
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
            he said, 'Don't count calories.'

              Hi Laura!

Welcome! Just wanted to say I giggled from the line in your signature about the peanut butter cups. There's one lady I work with who walks around with a bowl of chocolates EVERY DAY offering a piece to everyone, and each day I'd have to say no. Finally, after months of saying no, she's finally stopped asking me! She just mumbles, "Oh that's right, you're not having any" and moves on...

                Awww
Thank you very much for the warm welcome..! I really appreciate it sooooo much.

I have read the Dr. Atkins book, it is currently my bible, I refer back to it almost daily, and read up on the boards, as information changes alot. Gosh, I am so lucky this board is here.

I have to tell you a little story about my clothes. They just don't fit..! Nothing does, I go to put a pair of pants on and they will pull down over my butt without undoing them. I know you all have been there and know how awesome that feels..! It sure helps keep the spirits up that is for sure.

My boss is funny, she is extemely overwieght, I've asked her several times to go on the diet with me, but she says she can't do it..(I guess she's just not ready). I even offered to buy the food to feed us during the day as its just her and I in the office. She knows I can't eat the junk, but she'll buy it anyways, and she'll offer everyday..even hold it out and tempt me with it...but after 6 weeks, I've lost my cravings for the Reeces and brownies, and to be perfectly honest, I remember what they taste like, and I don't miss them at all.

We work in a title loan setting, and customers come in all day long to make their payments and such, and they'll notice the wieght loss, and It makes her mad at me. I hate that because she could do it too, it is just going to take some work on her part to do it. But I will not let it deter me from my goal of living healthier and longer. I love her to death, and I know sometimes I envy people that are skinnier then me, but now that I am shedding the pounds, I know that one day I will be in the position to offer hope to someone else..because it didn't go on all at once, and it is not going to come off all at once...it takes work. And I truly believe that anyone that is working the program deserves praise, not envy.

Thank you all for welcoming a newcomer..!

                  Re: Hi Everyone..!

Hi! Welcome to the board, sorry your boss is being difficult! Maybe she'll change her mind and jump aboard eventually. Maybe if she is paying attention to what you are eating she will see that she's really not going to have to "suffer" with this way of eating! Make sure you eat really yummy looking stuff in front of her!

I love your wedding dress, very pretty!
